"I don’t write many reviews, but my 11 year old begged me to leave one after our visit this half term! I visited with my two children and we were immediately seated and offered free drinks for the kids, which was a lovely touch. My youngest had a breakfast, which was a perfect size for her. My elder daughter had the ham and cheese toastie, which as she said, was “bigger than her head”. Lots of oozy cheese and thick, proper ham. I had the Cajun chicken roll, which was really tasty. I’ve visited the backyard many times over the years and I understand the owners have changed. The menu items themselves have changed and there are less cakes available, but the top quality ingredients, intimate, friendly environment and small but perfectly crafted menu itself have remained. My pre teen isn’t enthusiastic about much these days, but the backyard almost raised a smile from her, so it must be good!"

"Visited limes last night with friends for a birthday celebration after reading the reviews. We had an amazing time, the restaurant is beautiful inside and the menu is amazing. So many different dishes I have never seen before. The waiters were excellent, timely services and extremely knowledgable about the menu and gave perfect recommendations. The duck starter was superb. All of the food was excellent and plenty of it. Our friends live a distance away but have already said that this will be our regular. Can’t fault the service, food or atmosphere. A definite winner."

"I went for Sunday Roast lunch with my wife and parents. We came upon a friend's recommendation and we were not let down! The staff was friendly, seating us at our table and taking our drink orders. We all enjoyed starters and main courses. My dad and I had the delicious soup, my wife had garlic mushrooms, and my mom had the prawn cocktail; all dishes were extremely tasty! The main courses were served with a generous amount of fresh vegetables and everything was piping hot. Although I struggled to finish, I managed to do so! The entire experience was excellent and I highly recommend it. Parking: Available behind the pub."

"eating was of excellent quality and great value, although we had to wait a little. the restaurant is compact at the back of the bulls head pubs so that they have to stand up and buy drinks at the bar itself. the tables on which we sat were in another height to each other, so that this was not so great. service was friendly and without a doubt we will visit again."
