"Absolutely awful lunch experience. Filthy tables and dirty toilets with broken seat on arrival which was an immediate red flag. The cafe was very quiet with only one other table for 2 inside and a few tables outside yet service was slow. Lots of staff chatting and hanging around in the bar area not doing anything. I ordered poached eggs, avo on toast GF. When it did finally arrive there was no toast it was just two slices of limp bread soaked in avocado, both poached eggs were hard all the way through. Decided not to eat it as it was so unappealing. After the extended wait didn’t have time to have it remade. Staff commented ‘that looks awful’ so even they agreed!! My partner ordered a chicken avocado sandwich and fries. On arrival after the exceptionally long wait he requested salt, pepper and mayonnaise. No one ever came back with this or to do a food check back which is standard practice in any establishment. The sandwich was dry, not seasoned with soggy chips. He didn’t even finish the portion as it was so underwhelming and I went hungry. In addition to this I ordered a fresh mint tea which came in the dirtiest tea pot I’ve ever seen containing 3 mint leaves! I wasn’t expecting moroccos finest but at least a half decent attempt at fresh tea. The waiting staff were nonchalant and really not interested. When trying to leave we approached the bar and explained the disappointment. They still charged my partner £20 for his terrible food and the dirty drinks. The staff just looked blankly like we were making a fuss! Such a shame as it’s not that hard to make decent tea or poach some eggs and make some toast. Hospitality skills need some serious attention and a deep clean wouldn’t go a miss. Waste of a good spot in the lanes"
