Krishna's - Carta

I have never been to this restaurant as I dislike spicy food. Friends of mine have been and said it was very nice. I don't know how this got on TripAdvisor.

We had a take away from this restaurant which was tasty although the dishes were very hot with spices so not for the feint hearted curry eaters. Friendly staff and easy location to reach with parking directly outside; although limited if the restaurant is full.

Decided to pop in here on way home for convenience (lol). Took over an hour for the curry to arrive and was offered an extra 20% discount on top of the usual 10. Made the order of 2 curries, 1 rice, 1 naan, 1 side still very expensive at £26. Won't be back again! Ver carta

1st visit and we were all very impressed. The food was extremely good, we could not fault anything. We arrived at 7.00pm on a Thursday night and for a while were the only ones in there which had us concerned as to whether we had made a mistake in our choice of restaurant. Before we left at about 8.45 another 4 tables were taken. We will certainly return.

Visited before Xmas for the Sunday Buffet. On the whole pretty good. Flavours quite spicy...please be aware! My girlfriend found the spice a bit too much!! Food relenished in reasonable time but could be faster. Quality of lamb meat and fish was rather poor, chicken okay. Not actually sure whether they still do this buffet as monday to saturday lunches were axed. Not really busy when we visited.

Having eaten here before, I decided to book a table for nine people. It was a Sunday evening at about 8:30 and the place being deserted, resulted in a strange atmosphere perhaps owing to the fact that it is a large restaurant. This lack of ambience seemed to set the tone for the evening and so it never really took off and I felt the food on that occasion didn't change the mood. As the previous experience was so much better and presuming that the management is still the same, I would certainly give Krishna's another chance. Ver carta

We went for a Sunday buffet. The variety was decent, although my wife was disappointed with veggie choices. The dishes served were authentic, delicious and well served. I was quite impressed with the chicken biryani, which was a cut above many other restaurants that I have eaten in. The chicken manchurian was juicy and succulent. I very much enjoyed the selection. The dishes were a touch spicy, which my son couldn't cope with. Given that there was no a'la carte service during Sunday lunch, we had to make do. Overall, a good meal, but don't go during a buffet if you want a'la carte!

This was our first time here and we were unaccustomed to the Indian dishes on the menu. Unlike ordinary Indian restaurants we thought that the menu seemed to be a little bit limited but we were told that this was a real Indian menu not a run of the mill Bangladeshi type. The service was good and the different dishes on offer were explained to us. Although the main courses were ample we would avoid the naan bread as it was thin and very greasy. Also we would avoid the pickle tray as it was, at best, minimal and expensive for what we were given. As the place was nearly empty, it lacked atmosphere. Plenty of car parking space and quit despite being next to a main road.

A spontaneous visit on a Friday night with the hubby we didn't feel like cooking after a long week, and this place popped randomly into my head as somewhere close by with parking. We'd been once before, but not for about 6 years, and thought it was worth a try. What an inspired idea it was too! The restaurant was very quiet we got there after 9pm and apparently it had been busy earlier. The menu had lots of variety, and a good range of vegetarian food as well. We ordered starters chicken 65 for me, sheekh kebab for the hubby and mains lamb and spinach for me, lamb shank Kerali for him, and sides of garlic pilau rice and garlic and coriander naan.
