"Finding authentic Taiwanese food in London can be challenging, but Kung Fu Mama is definitely one of the best options in the city. During my recent lunch there, I enjoyed some standout dishes along with a few less impressive ones. The highlight was the beef noodle soup: the beef, slow-braised for 12 hours, was incredibly tender and flavorful, perfectly paired with well-seasoned noodles that captured the authentic Taiwanese texture. A splash of the chili oil provided at each table elevated the dish even further. In contrast, the Chicken Thighs with Ginger Sesame Noodle didn’t quite hit the mark. The chicken was slightly overcooked and tougher than expected, and the sauce leaned more towards salty oyster flavors rather than ginger and sesame. Surprisingly, the fried chicken was a high point—generously portioned at £6.75, with a wonderfully crispy skin and rich taste that outshined the chicken in the noodle dish. The drinks also impressed: the Home-Made Organic Hibiscus Tea and Assam milk tea were both excellent, especially the milk tea, which had a smooth, authentic flavor. The strawberry ice dessert was bigger than I anticipated, though I wished the milk-flavored ice had a stronger taste. Ordering was seamless thanks to three efficient self-service machines, making the process quick and nearly wait-free. The staff were friendly and attentive, promptly alerting us when our food was ready. Their rewards program, offering a star for each order and a free side dish after five stars, is a nice touch encouraging repeat visits. Overall, Kung Fu Mama offers a solid Taiwanese dining experience in London, with some dishes more impressive than others, making it a worthwhile place to try."
