"It's a nice, small and very modern restaurant right in the city center. The main concept is the circle in the middle of the restaurant where fresh Sushi (on small plates) floods in front of the guests on small boats who rotate around the circle. The chefs in the middle of the circle keep preparing new small plates with various small dishes. But you can also order from the menu at any time. Of course the quality of the food (mainly fish) in a Japanese restaurant is key, and as much as I can judge: there is nothing to complain about at Kyoto Sushi. Everything looks very fresh and is prepared with attention to detail. I really like the menu, though there doesn't seem to be hot/cooked dishes. The chefs who work in the center of the restaurant's "circle" are very friendly and most of the time attentive. My only complain is about the young waitress: she forgot to bring hot towels, or a complimentary dish, we always had to ask for more drinks or to bring the menu again. Overall it felt like she didn't like to serve the guests, at least not at this evening. At our second visit (Saturday night at 8PM) the restaurant was surprisingly empty (only 6 other couples) and the restaurant's owner started to clean the whole counter and the bar stools already at 9PM. There were two other couples sitting around the bar, and we actually started to wonder whether this was a hint to leave. It's hard to enjoy your dinner in this kind of atmosphere. Overall the owner just didn't come across even remotely interested in his guests. Price: Well, Sushi is never low-budget food. We were quite hungry, started with two soups and had at least 7 or 8 small dishes, plus a bottle of water, 1 hot Sake and two Japanese beer: about 72.00 Euro. In comparison to the restaurant Tokyo Sushi (just 200 m around the corner) Kyoto Sushi is by far less hectic and noisy, which I definitely prefer in order to enjoy dinner. However, as much as I like the food, I'm not sure whether I will give Kyoto Sushi another try."
