"We wanted to try the food from this boat due to the high TripAdvisor rating, but weren't around at the advertised opening hours. By pure chance, the boat arrived as we were passing at about 5.30pm when it was supposed to be closed, so we took our chance ordered chips, chicken nuggets mixed fish fritters to be washed down with 2 cold beers. We sat on a nearby bench thoroughly enjoyed the food drink whilst watching the queue get bigger by the minute! Definitely recommended if you are maybe at the beach in Viareggio for the day. Ignore the opening hours on their Facebook page as they seem to come go as they please depending on the weather. YUM!"

Had to try this local institution. The chips were wonderfully light, however the small fish cakes were not great and I would give those a miss.

I had fried fish, fried porcini, and crocchette di pesce (fried cod fish balls). The fish was fresh and well fried, crunchy and tasty. Same goes for the mushrooms. No need to go to fancy touristic restaurants, it's all here. Just follow the locals.

This was our umpteen visit a very unusual eating experience indeed which certainly reminded me of the once delightful eating of fish and chips in Brighton wrapped in newspapers! The fish is utterly fresh as it is caught daily locally the batter is crispy and the chips too. You are served while you wait and the meal is cooked aboard the floating boat. There are seats along the way it is an open air eating experience. You can then pop around the corner the start of the Viareggio Promenade along the seafront and visit one of the numerous ice cream parlours to complete the meal.

during the summer holidays, me and my partner decided to take a trip to the road, and so after walking x the streets and the long sea, we came across the bar, a real boat docked in the port of Viareggio... The fried fish scent, inebriates until the beginning of the pier. Wide choice of frying including, squid, shrimp, anchovies, cod, chips, etc...What to say excellent fry, light, not greased, digestible, exquisite!! ! We took two frittini, two chips and two coke cola, for a total of money spent very well!!!C will definitely return... I recommend the bar for the quality of the fish, and for the friendliness of the staff!

"The food and the hospitality at this little spot are both spot on. You would be a fool to not visit here at least once during your time in the Tuscan seaside town of Viareggio. Unless you plan to make their dinner service right as they open, be sure to make a reservation in advance as the tiny spot fills up very quickly. From the moment we arrived for our dinner reservation the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and as if we were right at home. As soon as we were settled in, our waiter brought us a small welcome dish from the chef that he described to us a typical Tuscan soup. I don 't know what it was called but it was delicious! For our food, we ordered their tordelli with meat ragu sauce after our waiter informed us it 's a typical type of ravioli in that region. You 'll quickly learn as you travel through Italy that each region and often many towns and cities have their own unique ways of creating their pasta dishes that you can only find in that region. The recommendation was a good one because the dish was delicious! For our main, we ordered the Pork Steak Senese which consisted of pre-cut grilled pork with parmesan and balsmamic and grilled trevisano (a type of leafy green). It didn 't look the most appetizing when it was placed in front of us but looks can be deceiving because it was another delicious dish. To wrap up what was already an enjoyable meal, when our waiter brought our bill he also placed a small tray of almond biscuit cookies topped with powdered sugar, a dessert typical of the Tuscan region, as another compliments of the kitchen. Between the tasty food and the small gestures of hospitality, we will definitely be back to dine here if we ever found ourselves in Viareggio again."
