"We have already tried various pizzas in Gelsenkirchen. That was the worst. Three pizzas were delivered. In all, the edge was burned, much too much cheese that was almost brown. A pizza must be juicy, this was just awfully dry, we were very disappointed."

"We stayed at this hotel for two nights in a room with balcony and lake view. The hotel was very convenient, short walk from the train station and they provide free shuttle if you carry many suitcases. The room was clean and the lake view (both the room and the dining hall) was amazing. We were able to do a bit of jogging around the lake before/after our sightseeing in the morning/afternoon and that was absolutely delightful. Breakfast was alright but they tend to reserve nicer window tables for “some” guests but not all (which we had no idea how it worked). We arrived on the first morning and one of the ladies in the dining hall was very particular on which table we had to sit but kept talking to us in “non-English”. We tried to understand what she meant but couldn’t and the whole situation was very unfortunate and frustrating. At the end, we followed her “order” (thank god) but seriously, she could have been nicer though...so be aware!"

"We were with 3 generations in the house of screen right and felt very comfortable from the beginning to the end. Allen tasted very well. The steaks were right at the point (absolutely) and the scavengers were juicy and with delicious sauce and supplement (e.g. Schnitzel Ückendorf with bacon, brewed onions and roasted potatoes) The price/performance ratio is very good. We come back to try the many other dishes."

"Die Ausstattung des einstmals SEHR angesehenen Speiselokals HIRT ist seit mindestens 50 Jahren nicht verändert. Der Inhaber hat jedoch mehrfach gewechselt. Das Interieur ist der Bevölkerung vertraut. Viel (sehr schönes) dunkles Holz lässt eine gediegene, gedämpfte Stimmung aufkommen. Der Service ist freundlich und flott. Die Karte ist sehr umfangreich, am Mittag gibt es eine zusätzliche Karte mit Dumpingpreisen. Auch zu Gerichten aus der "normalen" Karte gibt es eine Vorsuppe und Nachtisch - im letzteren Fall einmal eine große Portion Vanilleeis mit warmen Kirschen. Absolute Highlights darf der Gast nicht erwarten, aber bodenständige, gut bürgerliche Küche wird geliefert. Die Preise sind insgesamt moderat.Die Auswahl an Weinen erscheint eher eingeschränkt."

"We've been back to La Tombola for the first time ever since the Corona outbreak. There has changed something in the entrance area, the well with the turtles has disappeared and there are new owners. Already at the table assignment you felt well-attended, friendly and courteous operation! The dishes were tasty and lovingly prepared. A nice well maintained restaurant, we will definitely come back! Only, I would rather get herbal butter served with garlic as an appetizer to the delicious crispy bread than this cream."
