"we recently wanted to invite our neighbours to Sunday dinner and I looked up high and low on tripadvisor for this special country house style place in the mountain landscape. christian's gas house seemed to be exactly what we were looking for. from leverkusen is the ride...from to wipperfurth approx. 45 minutes when you drive in a cozy, Sunday pace. we came across a very rural road and found the restaurant in a small valley. so good. there were many free parking spaces outside, which was also positiw. in the inner there was a cordial greeting that we were simply taken something back by having only a few lunches, we had the place almost completely for ourselves at least for the first hour or so. the lunch menu on Sunday was rather economical, but we could all find something to eat. I was really excited about seasonal Brat-Gans, which was available as confit de gans with loads of chestnuts, red cabbage and serviette knoedel (as I thought the question price of 27 euro for this dish was quite steep I found that it was all quite dry, even when I asked for extra sauce. others in the party had currywurst and bratkartoffeln, top of the plaques, etc. my wife went for a court that almost includes excellent by serviettenknoedel. she seemed to enjoy it. since we were in our main meal, surprisingly the place began to fill. in the act when we came to order dessert warn that it was some time to bridge our food on the table, especially as a large group of family friends had occupied the back. we were not under a big time print, but surely the service was extended as more and more people arrived for afternoon tea/coffee and mountainous waffels. to see the waffles on the other tables, asked us to order them also for dessert- fresh made with loads of warm cherry cream. a coffee at the end has just made the trick to round off a beautiful enough afternoon. at the end of the afternoon I came to pay and I think I jumped in the kitchen to christian. he wanted to try his English, which was nice. what was a shock, but it was the fact that he did not accept plastic cards only cash. when our meal came to 150 euros, it made me stunn. fortunately, I just had enough money in my package, but so they were warned that they needed money to eat here."

"A cozy restaurant with friendly attentive staff. The menu lets the water go together in the mouth and as we sat directly on the kitchen, all the deliciously fragrant foods went past us. The portions are also difficult to create for good eaters and therefore the staff asks for taking the rest. We prepared a snack for the next day with small supplements. Everything is freshly prepared and the price/performance ratio is consistent. Reservation is recommended, best until 1 day before. We'll be happy to return when we're close."

"Unser Besuch liegt schon ein paar Monate zurück, wir waren die ersten Gäste an dem Tag. Als wir reinkamen wurden wir statt mit Guten Tag mit einem unfreundlichen Reserviert? empfangen. Dann wurde uns wortlos unser Tisch gezeigt. Wir bekamen die Speisekarte, welche komplett auf italienisch war und somit fast komplett unverständlich. Nach etwa 10 Minuten fragte uns der Kellner im Vorbeigehen Was trinken? und ging weiter bevor wir antworten konnten. Wir verließen daraufhin das Lokal und wurden dafür noch mit bitterbösen Blicken bestraft. So etwas unhöfliches habe ich noch nicht erlebt, nie wieder!"
