"Food is simple (pizzas and grilled meats), fun and nicely presented. The whole atmosphere of the restauraunt is convivial. Its a a lovely neighorhood restaurant. The grilled steak and french fries are excellent. The issue that the restaurant faces is service - which I don't think is actually the fault of the staff or owner. The fundamental problem is that there is only one person serving. The restaurant needs at least 2. Having one person means that service is very slow although the waiter is going as fast as he can. The fault lies with the fact that the French government penalize business owners and make it prohibitively expensive to emnploy staff and impose employment regulations that are draconian. I feel for small business owners such as these. So if you get frustrated with the slow service remember the terrible resctrictions imposed on the restaurant owner."

long service and unfriendly staff. For some pizzas were good, others like any grilling. The salad bathed in the vinaigrette and the chops of lamb were too cooked!! On the other hand, desserts were good.Because of the irregularity of the quality of the dishes and the service we found it expensive and we will not return there. Ver carta

I didn't know the place 6 months ago but I'm happy with it and I go back regularly with family or friends to make discover this restaurant. The team is nice (patron, waitresses and cooks), we eat very well, pizzas are good, the magret is delicious but the best remains the chicken marinated! Not to mention the desserts! I definitely recommend!

On the evening of the music festival, we had dinner on the terrace (in the pedestrian street, nice!) a nice and unique menu with a team in small care despite a temperature of more than 37°C. It wasn't big kitchen but the value for money for a party night was really perfect. the dishes were tasty, hearty and despite the big heat, we enjoyed everything with pleasure. nothing to say if it's only that we'll come back with pleasure outside the parties to choose on the map.

"The Mediéval occupies an 11th-century building built on the left bank of the Agout River; you enter from the first street to the east — the door is a few steps below street level. We chose this restaurant because one of our party had been here ten years ago and had a very positive memory of it. We weren’t disappointed. Its name refers both to the date of its building and to its ambience: the room has a vaulted ceiling supported by arches, thick walls, an old wooden cabinet, and some medievalish decorations. The main room holds about fourteen tables; a further couple of tables are in an adjoining alcove, and a porch overlooking the river allows a couple of small tables, used seasonally. The tables are placed fairly close to one another but the feeling isn't quite cramped, especially as only four other tables were being used. The white tablecloths and sturdy chairs enhance to the comfortable feeling. We were greeted warmly for lunch, and the daily specials were explained to us. The 17€ menu of the day seemed good value. There were no choices. It began with a light and tasty fish mousse on salad greens with vegetables; this was the most creatively conceived and interesting part of the meal. It was followed by a "plat" of turkey with a particularly notable mushroom gravy and mixed mashed potatoes. The dessert was pears in a rich caramel cream. As others have noted, the portions are generous. Nothing could have done better, though I’d reinforce what another reviewer says, that with the gravy, mash, and caramel cream dessert, this was by no means a low-fat meal. Good crusty rolls were given us and replenished. We included a bottle of recent Gaillac wine, modestly priced. Service was quite friendly, but, as other reviewers have noted, sometimes a bit slow, since the staff is small. (Accordingly, I've rated the service "average", but it was much better than average in warmth.) We were in no hurry, though, and didn’t mind. Given its pleasant setting and and comfortable room, the friendliness of the staff, the good value, and the very interestingly conceived and well prepared (though rich) food, I’d recommend the Mediéval to others."
