"I stayed at the hotel in the old block, separated from the main building. It's in desperate need of TLC, to say the least, appearing to date back to a prior century.The gym could have been a nice touch but was equally dated with what looks like second hand equipment shipped in from the UK, a large portion of which was not fully operational or the type of equipment purchased for a home gym. That being said the build in squash court was a quirky and rather surprising positive, not found by me so far in any other small hotel in my years of travel.The main building had clearly seen some of the very necessary upgrades including the hotel restaurant which was generally rather good. The breakfast was much better fare than I might have expected from small town France with fresh pressed orange, bacon and eggs etc.Not much of the International language in evidence, but then it is france afterall.Would have scored a much more favourable recommendation if it wasnt for the old accomodation block. If I went back, it would only be under the condition that a refurbished room in the main block was available."

"NOTE: PERMANENT CLOSURE SINCE JUNE 2024. ...a new arrival in the heart of the city, this restaurant has an interior that is very pleasing to the eye...the setting has been completely reinvented and I must admit that it is very successful...the staff is numerous, responsive and smiling...the prices are very attractive from 16.19 to 31 euros...the presentation of the dishes offered is worthy of a starred establishment...this careful aspect is also reflected on the plate ...the dishes are tasty and give us the irresistible desire to discover new ones... I must agree that this restaurant could become a reference in the future... Practical aspect...free parking nearby. Permanent closure since the beginning of June 2024"

You don't know what you're going to eat! on couples are particularly difficult to satisfy, and yet we start the blind on this menu, after we have been asked what we do not like and our allergies. and there, very successful: all dishes are treated, perfect cooking, extreme food and optimised seasonings. Our painful tastes have been very difficult, have left nothing, and ask again! efficient and encrypted service, of extreme prevenance. the chief moves to greet us, and the whole room illuminates. rather young customers, very nice and relaxed atmosphere, do not delight old grumpy people who probably did not understand the interest of this beautiful place. pack up your fair and if as you say, you are a regular star tables, go to see if the hay is greener. "En visite près de Montceau, on en profite pour s'arrêter à LA PATATERIE !Petit menu a 15€ avec un coca, une pomme au four savoyarde et 2 profiteroles, vraiment le Bon Deal ! Pas cher, copieux et très bon !Et très surprise de l'accueil dans ce restaurant ! La gérante et le serveur était très très agréable ! Souriants et amicales, ne chipote pas pour redonner une sauce et laisse le temps de choisir. C'est toujours agréable.En plus service rapide et plats très chaud ! ❤Pour sûre ce n'est pas de la cuisine gastro mais pour moi qui veux bien manger, patate, fromage et dessert glacé dans une bonne ambiance entre amis c'est parfait ! On n'a plus faim en sortant ! J'ai même testé la Patate Savoyarde à emporter et franchement superbe ! Encore chaude après 40min de route GÉNIAL !Manquait juste la sauce ciboulette (qui est délicieuse), tout ne peut pas être parfait ! La prochaine fois je penserais à la demander !Vivement ma prochaine visite, Chalon manque d'une Pataterie !"

"I did not taste the meats that seem to be the specialty of the house. It was inflicted on me a Bologna spaghetti (something and often infectious which, by the way, is neither Italian, nor bologna but Franco-Belgian, mixing with little or no misfortunes of minced meat, herbs and condiments, sugar and oil, etc., etc., a misfortune never arrived alone). Here it was made simpler: bad spaghetti too cooked and a sauce made of a kind of passata and beef beef well fat to be honest; No onions, no mushrooms, no wine, no garlic, no onion, no ... sus au gaspi ! An alms of parmesan (reduced in powder) and no spicy oil that would have helped to raise all this and act as a sealer. I hope that other dishes are, for the good gastronomic and gastroenterological health of customers, different. Small flat at this moment of sadness: quite correct dessert and attentive staff."
