"We chose the set lunch menu, which was correctly priced (if I recall it was around the 15 euro mark). Diners can add an extra 5,50 euros for a glass of table wine and a coffee. The food was a little hit and miss. The entree of the day was a deconstructed salmon and mushroom vol-au-vent, while the main courses were haddock with spinach fettuccine, or beef with courgettes and orzo. All those were pretty good, and the fish tasted really fresh. The miss was my Alsacienne salad, which I was not familiar with, and described to me as tomatoes, gherkins, ham and cheese. I thought why not? Well, it was more cold shredded cheese and ham than anything else, with only a homeopathic dose of tomato and gherkin. Anyone out there thinking of ordering this salad as a healthy option, be warned.Ambiance was cool; the place was set out with a wine cellar feel and there was a painting of Bacchus upstairs.Reading through the other reviews, I'm not surprised to see the two extreme experiences in service. Waiting time was a bit on the slow side, but since we were on holidays and not in a hurry, we didn't care. Depending on which waiter was taking our orders, serving up the food, clearing the plates or fixing up the bill, the interaction varied between efficiently brusque and warm and friendly. I will say though, that they were pretty busy so it's understandable if they weren't in the mood to chinwag."

Brilliant food and very good service. Extensive menu selection, moderately priced, but very expensive wine. Located not far from the square in the old town, nice atmosphere, Seems popular with the locals.

We were strolling around the old city center one evening and the look of this restaurant was very appealing. Friendly waiters provided us with a nice table at the window. The menu has a lot of local dishes and the size of the courses fills an empty stomach.

Had our last night meal here and couldn't fault it. All our meals we delicious I had the steak and pepper sauce, and it was without doubt the best steak I have had in years. Be aware that some of the portion sizes are small, but they make up for it with flavour.

We went with friends in this touristic street with many restaurants. The dishes were quite good and big enough but not over the average in taste and quality. We were outside because there wasn't place inside but I'm sure we could appreciate better if there was a table inside. The service was quite slow.We paid 18,50€ for a formule with starter and main dish and a bottle of wine split in 6 persons.

I had a very nice dinner here, foie gras of duck and sirloin steak. The fois gras was very good, the sirloin was perfectly cooked and very tender. My husband however wasn't that lucky. His gaspazo was very bland. His salmon was OK though, and his Iles flottany for dessert was quite nice. The service definitely could be improved. The waitors seemed to forget you at times, and it was very difficult to get the bill at the end of the meal.

La Table de Bacchus is excellent at every level. I return to Nancy every 3-6 months and I go every time. I have always had a very pleasant experience. The staff are friendly and efficient (in French or in English) and the food is great. There is a vast choice of a la carte dishes or set menus which always let you chose between meat and fish and a vegetarian dish. The restaurant has now bought up some new premises on the opposite side of the street and has its pastry and dessert chef there. If you still have room for a dessert, they are most definitely worth it.I would absolutely recommend it, excellent value for money aside from everything else.

Few experiences when travelling are more rewarding than the spontaneous choice that becomes a memorable success. Such was our recent encounter with Nancy and La Table de Bacchus in particular. On our first night in the city we wanted cafe fare near to our hotel on Place Stanislas, and settled on La Table de Bacchus (which is around the corner). But instead of cheapie French nosh-up, the food was seriously good and the service was attentive, knowledgeable and amusingly delightful. Benoit, our waiter, made excellent suggestions including the selection of wine. It is possible that there are criticisms to be made, but they certainly did not occur to us as we enjoyed profoundly French cuisine mad...

While looking for a place for dinner in this restaurants street, the menu and the friendly waiter outside were very inviting. It was early so we could get a table easily but the place filled up very quickly. They have interesting formulas that both my friends tried, I went for à la carte.I first had some foie gras, delicious, home made, you can really taste it. Then, a rumpsteak of Black Angus, served rare as I asked with a nice mozzarella sauce and tasty fries. Delicious and good portions, I was almost full, still went for a dessert, sorbet, nice.My friends had the goat salad, another piece of beef, poached salmon, ananas tartar and brownies, they were also happy.Staff is super friendly, goo...

My boyfriend (who speaks French) and I chose La Table de Bacchus for lunch, convinced by the good Tripadvisor rating. Unfortunately we didn't have a nice experience like some reviewers here, the restaurant played a dirty trick on us. We ordered a starter from the menu and steak as main course from the separate lunch card, pointing at our choice there as we ordered. Our waiter then smilingly opened the menu again and asked us to choose a sauce from a list, written under the same steak dish (but more expensive), in innocence we did. When we got the bill, we were charged the more expensive price on the menu, instead of the price on the lunch card. When we reminded the waiter how we ordered and...
