"Superb original cooking, largely influenced by Basque and south western French flavours and styles, our meal here was an unexpected highlight in La Rochelle. We were very surprised at how quiet it was, only 3 other tables occupied on a Saturday night and wondered whether its location north of the market meant only canny locals know its whereabouts. We drank excellent glasses of a range of Basque and Landes wines (dessert, white and red) with our courses of foie gras terrine, which was meaty and satisfying, crab "tiramisu" with croutons and iceberg lettuce in beautiful sauce, outstanding pork filet mignon and Basque style burger with pimento and cheese and fabulous chips. The female chef prepared everything on her own, with the male host waiting and managing wine suggestions. They provided delicious amuse bouche of smoked haddock with horseradish on rounds of lightly toasted bread and digestifs of plum liqueur (also a Basque speciality) on the house. Three courses and around a bottle's worth of wine for two set us back around 90 euros, which for cooking of this quality and originality in such pleasant modern surroundings and such a welcoming atmosphere, we thought was very good indeed. Highly recommended."

we flew on the way to another restaurant in this place and decided to try it. what a fantastic sound! the food quality was wonderful, and the portions were huge. we had the Canard Special and it was fantastic. the couple, their own. the restaurant are very attentive and friendly.

We had a very nice dinner at this spot after eyeing it up for weeks. We wondered why it was not very busy but found out is still very new (3-4 months they said). The food was spectacular (we had the pork dish and the scallop dish) and the server was friendly and endearing. Atmosphere was tastefully modern, fresh and simple. Highly recommended! Ver carta

we have chosen this restaurant because it features seasonal, traditional french cooking. the locality is nice, with an open kitchen. The service is friendly and always present. the food was excellent. a three course meal with a baskian wine recommendation came for about €95, which was reasonable compared to the more touristic places at the harbour.we can definitely recommend this restaurant.

we are immersed in lunch, my mother is vegetarian and in the rule is the only option a basic salad. they were very accommodating and gave her a huge plate of fresh salad and sweet. it looked fantastic. we had the bark breakers that was dirty and the chips were not handmade from a package. the personal was very friendly, the atmosphere was good and it was off the tourist route. we would definitely return if in the opposite.
