"Ever-present Pakistani Cafe that raised their prices years ago to match the changing landscape in the City of London (a mile away). So from being an affordable, somewhat different place of choice, Lahore One became somewhere that tapped into a clientele that dipped deeper into their suited pockets although many of the reviews here claim it to be 'cheap '. Look around Whitechapel/Commercial Rd areas and you will find remarkably cheap, honest outfits, some as old as Lahore One. A meal for two at Shalamar House on New Road or Al Hambra on Whitechapel Road will set you back £12-17, the same at Lahore One will forfeit you around £40+. Granted the previous examples are incredibly cheap, but the food is good and does not claim to be anything more than cafe fare. This is where the comparison ends with Lahore. Lahore, a cafe with restaurant prices considers itself superior enough to charge so much more and it is here that I disagree. Chana at £7.50, Kebab rolls £5 or more. Meat Curries £10. Despite this disagreement, I would add that Lahore One IS unique. The taste, albeit oily, is quite something. The Chana one of the best in London, the Korai dishes superb. The selection of vegetarian dishes accommodating enough for non-meat eaters. I hear complaints that the Biryani is not Biryani? Ask at the counter and you will be informed how they make their Biryani. You will leave this restaurant full with the flavours lingering! It is cash only with 3 ATM 's nearby (hopefully operational). Some of the reviews complain about rudeness or staff confrontations. This is something I have never experienced. The staff here are patient and courteous and it is definitely a family run outfit. Make no mistake, despite my reservations and occasional annoyance at their prices, Lahore One is a jewel of the E1 area."

Hands down the absolute best curry I've ever had. Bursting with flavour. A large group, the food came in good time. Great service and staff.

Great curry but the highlight was the kebab roll and kheet, it was so delicious. Reminded me of Eid in India. I only gave 4 stars because a party that joined after had me feeling a little uncomfortable.

the best place of all time! 3 different members of the staff who fulfill our needs. eat quickly. it was just delicious. very good prices and I have even offered the official bonnet/has. we often go back and we highly recommend. a great place!

one of our Go-to-Indian takeaways, we must try to eat there next time. eating is fresh and spicy, feels really homemade (very oily though.) we had the saagic goat lamb, saag aloo, karahi huhn and chana. all were excellent and I would have them again.

I don't come here often enough! they don't expect fine restaurants, but eating is amazing and good value. the load next door has a large selection of alcoholic drinks (laore does not sell alcohol) and there is plenty of space, ideal for large groups. it's getting pretty loud there! I recommend the lame aprons.

It may look a bit shabby on the outside, but inside looks new and clean. Very small spaces, but I like establishments like this. The menu isn't extensive, but I only like one type of curry anyway, and they do it really well, their Karahai Gosht is delicious with the perfect amount of spices. Good portion, the lamb is tender and no short of meat. I will be going back. Only downside is Cash Only.

delicious, honest kitchen of the type that served us was very nice, friendly and polite a small, family-run, certainly not a grills restaurant; if they don't get over that, they'll go somewhere else, but they'll be missing for good food. yesterday fought with some kumpels for the first time. would have cooked the charcoal canvas tikka lamm with a garlic naan for dying-for, really good meerte on the lamb. mates had the methi chicken, Karahai chicken chest. all superb many thanks for a nice meal and a friendly setting and thanks for the chili sauce to take away! I gave 5stars because you deserved it, stop the hard work!
