"First time we came here, wanted to go there since long because of appealing looks from outside.Warm and friendly greeting, restaurant was well attended on a Saturday evening but we managed to get one of last tables without a reservation.Friendly and quick service. Food was nicely presented and tasty. We were asked how spicy we would like our dishes and they were prepared according to our likings.Lal Haweli is probably not the best Indian place in berlin but if you consider what you get for relatively small money (we paid around 45 Euro for three meals and drinks) than this is definitely a place that deserves recommendation. We will come here again.Parking a bit problematic but you'll find a spot after circling the block for a few times."

I had a dinner on a quiet evening. Positive here was friendly staff and prices.I had a soup, main course and a large beer, total sum was 15€, this was quite cheap. The soup was very good, however the main course was a bit tasteless.

We went there upon an advice and didn´t regret it.A salad as a welcoming starter, meat incredibly tender and melting in the mouth, sauces not too rich nor spicy, the nan not too soft. And above all, a much gentle and efficient service staff !You should try it.

I have never taste this nice Indian food in any where, soup, main dishes..everything is different and perfect. The amount of food is great with nice price. with 10 -12 euros you can take soup, main dish and you'll be more than full :)The place is so clean and the staff is so friendly. If you are search for Halal meat, this restaurant has Halal foods.I recommended it Ver carta

Been to Berlin with friends to attend a conference.Ate at 3 different indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi restaurants. Lal Haveli was one of them.Owner was from Pakistan. Was very friendly. Food was average. This review about food could be biased as i live near Birmingham UK and quality and choice of food available to me is virtually limitless so i am spoilt!Location and the decor is nice.

We came here as we were very close to our friend's house. We love the indian food and it was just...there, on the corner! So..........They were more than decent, the service was ok, the food came quite fast and it was DELICIOUS. We were 3 at the table and we had the chance to exchange "oppinions" on that. The drinks were not expansive and, above all...the palce is NOT stinky (which is rare in Berlin, for an asian restaurant!). We would definitely go back here next time!

The menu listed Lal Haweli Biryani which was a combination of chicken and lamb. The service was extremely quick. The naan was seriously good, not oily, fluffy, light and just right on the salt. The Mango lassi was really good, no ice added, served in a tall glass. the lamb curry was not much to write home about but in combination with the white rice good. The Tandoori on the other hand was dished up sizzler style and it excellent. Somehow the original tandoori recipe on a sizzler made it a very good dish. Ver carta

I'm not sure if German tastes mean Indian restaurants tend to blandify (that is a word, honestly...) their cuisine but the food here was really dull and lacking in flavour. And it contained some tofu in a lamb dish, Rogan Josh, which I'd never had before, and seemed slightly odd, only adding to the blandness. Indian food in the UK seems much better than most of the Indian I've had in Germany with one exception. And if you're reading this review you're in luck - the exception is just around the corner - Agni serves food that knocks spots off this place (even if their people skills could do with a little work). Go there instead!

Bizarrely, Indian food is different all over the world. You'll find some of the best Indian food in England, and of course in India. In Germany, Indian food is different to what you might expect. However, we loved it here. As is typical in German Indian restaurants the menu is more limited than you might be used to, and contains several additions that you wouldn't expect to see on an Indian restaurant menu. The curries we had were both excellent. We had starters and curry with rice and chapati, and all this came with an unexpected salad. We each had two alcoholic drinks, and the total bill with tip was forty Euros. We would definitely return here.
