"I can think of nothing to fault here, hence the rating. The setting, in Ribeauvill s Haute Ville, is beautiful (we eat on the terrasse), the service is both pleasant and efficient, and the food (if our experience is representative) is exceptional. The emphasis is...on the regional classics, with seasonal ingredients and modern presentation. I started with rillettes, served with multigrain bread and a dressed salad on a slate (OK, maybe a bit old hat now in the UK, but refreshingly contemporary in this part of France), followed by a perfectly cooked, tender veal chop served with seasonal local asparagus (the white variety), and then some Munster cheese; whilst my son ate snails, then Baeckeofe (think Lancashire hotpot but with the meat marinated in local wine), and a perfectly molleux chocolate pudding. There is an extensive wine list, including half-a-dozen local wines identified by the estate and/or producer (i.e. not just grape variety) and served by the glass or pichet. The best meal I have had on this particular visit to France."
