"Our first dinner in France on this trip and a Monday evening there were few alternatives to this restaurant. So we were very satisfied that we had booked and even more pleased when the very friendly waiter/bar manager really spoke good English and informed us... he had held a table on the terrace on the back of the restaurant. The restaurant was very busy, all tables on the terrace were taken and the two dining rooms were practically full of the time we left. Our table was in the central area of the terrace and the weather was perfect for the food al fresco, warm and sunny, but with sufficiently large parasols to protect us from heat and glare. We studied the menu and the wine list – both were extensive and we had to be advised by our English-speaking fiancée. He was patient and severed us with a glass of wine we chose, and also a free glass of Chardonnay from Anjou. Now I have Chardonnay many times before from unsurpassed through to almost orange-colored, ridiculously calibrated offers that are IMHO unpleasant. This wine was aged only 5 months in oak and the result was quite pleasant, but we stayed at our choice of Sauv Blanc. We ordered a two-course meal: My partner ordered Cod Risotto, which was great. Many restaurants do not cook risotto rice properly and it comes as a gluten-containing diet, well not here – every rice grain was clear and the liquor was fresh and light. The cod was beyond the apron, perfectly cooked with various flakes of meat, as it broke apart under the weight of the cutlery. For the desert, my partner chose a red-berry ice cream with Chantilly cream. This was enjoyed and eaten with good comments. I had chosen the Lamb Rib Chops with three fried chips. The lamb was juicy and tender and sufficient pink, as my preference for lamb. The chips were good, but after all they were only chips. For the desert I had a 3-scoop serving of ice cream: mango, passion fruit and chocolate chip – that was really good ice cream – many really deep flavors in a generous serving. We almost cancelled our booking for the following evening with another restaurant because we wanted to return our elections and return because I really loved the look of the Cod Risotto; we were not, although and indeed we are glad."

We arrived in Chateau-Gontier at 12:30 on a Sunday, and looked for a restaurant to have lunch. We were told this was the only one open. We had to wait an hour for a table because the restaurant was packed. But the food was excellent...and the service very good. Definitely would recommend.

Very cozy restaurant right in front of the city centre. We had a 3 plate menu for 21euro. (Aero, bottle of water and refreshment incl. For this price we were really amazed for the quality of the dishes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A great recomendation for the boss and the staff.

We went for a special evening meal and weren't disappointed. The menu is very varied from very affordable burgers and pizzas to French classics like the cote de bouef. Which was tender to eat but tough to finish by two large very hungry eaters! Best...restaurant for a good meal in Chateau Gontier

Stopped at a near by hotel and walked to this restaurant one evening we were early but it got busy as the night went along. Well decorated but a little dated. Service ok, Food ok but portions a bit small. Prices a little high...for the quality of the food. Not a place we would rush back too if we were in the area.

We stopped at Le 2M for a drink and my party of 5 shared a very yummy bottle of well priced champagne. We were also served a complementary appetizer flat bread. We sat in the bar area and enjoyed our bubbly and snack after walking...through the Old Town of Château-Gontier. The food we saw looked amazingly delicious and the staff was very welcoming to our party who spoke little French.

Tonight was my third visit here. I simply cannot give a negative view of Le 2M Even though I travel extensively throughout Europe,(I'm a Continental Truck Driver) this is buy far becoming one of my favourite places for dinner. The Management and all the Team...are first class. Although it's a limited menu, quality is not in limited quantities!! Attention to detail, cannot fault. Once again, looking forward to my next visit. Well done.

. Not very interesting from the outside, it looked small and gloomy. But once inside it opened up like Dr Who's spaceship into a sizable dining room which quickly filled up of an evening until it was bursting at the seems! Full of happy people...enjoying fast, furious and friendly service (the waiters must have been exhausted by close of play! and good food from a menu with an excellent choice. We found it by accident, but would love to go there again, on purpose. .

After we just tried to find another restaurant closed we found in Le 2M. Although it wasn't open for half an hour for dinner, we were invited to have a drink in the bar and to study the menu, essential to us as none of us... speak a lot French! At 7.00 we showed a table in the surprisingly spacious restaurant, which is not visible from the outside. We had a nice evening with all of us who enjoy the food. I had noodles, my husband and son in the law had Burger and my daughter had the chicken and Chorizo Kebab. All well cooked and delicious. Service was really good and not too expensive.

Selected by Tripadvisor, we decided on this restaurant Bar Weinbar... Free parking on the road between 12 and 2 pm... indicate the French way of living that food is important! I choose the daily menu item. Bass with safron... sauce and red beans. The beans are not my favorite but unfortunately! Nicely prepared and I ate the fish. Dessert: a beautiful coupe de fresh fruits. My table also chose lamb and chicken. Both were delicious. Only B minor were the French Pommes. They were too soft in French trop molle The dessert: Crème brûle fruit salad and Pana cottage with fruit rouge were very good and delicious to Lucille ball used to say this in their TV show comedy, I love Lucy).
