"I haven't written a review for a while. You know. You get busy traveling for work and all you want is a place where you can sit for a bit, enjoy a glass of wine and a light supper - a respite. Le Grignot was busy when I came in on a Saturday evening but I got a table right away and had a satisfying supper: a salmon tartare, a glass of sancerre and a mint tea. Imagine my surprise when I was charged the equivalent of $74 CAN - double, I figured out when I went back to the menu online. Now, people can make mistakes. I made a mistake when I didn't put on my reading glasses as I tapped in my visa code. But here's where I have a problem: because the restaurant is closed Sunday and I had to leave first thing Monday morning, I contacted the restaurant through an email and a phone message. No one got back to me, not even to say 'Sorry, this was your error so you have to eat the loss.' IAh well. There are plenty of other restaurants in Le Havre, no? And always wear your glasses when paying the bill."

We had the best Sole Meuniere ever, and an excellent Gourmet salad. Also the oysters were very fresh and perfectly accompanied.

Ambient is nice, personnel take time to serve and could speed up. Menu is quite standard and no specific dishes are served. Fish could be treated better with local Normand sauce.

Comfortable place, atmosphere and decor. The steak and hake were alright, wasn't sure about the rice, seafood appetizer was lovely. Slow service in a busy restaurant, a bit short-staffed perhaps. All the tables around us were all eagerly waiting to speak with someone.

Sat outside in the enclosed extension. The oysters were excellent, but the moules au curry came without the curry sauce so had to wait for this to be brought, but in the end were good. The chips were also very good. Service was so-so. Don't think I would eat there on a regular basis. Once was fine, but enough. Ver carta

Ok. So lets start off with the first impression which was really good. Decor fir xmas looks great as does the bathroom. Only had two problems. The food andThe serviceServer was polite but we felt ignored and even thoug we all put our hands up in the air it took quite a while before we got. Forks. Water or the opportunity to order food.I got quite unlucky with my food. The rise in the risotto was not properly cooked and don't even get me started on the chease salad. My friends food on the other hand deserve a grade 4. At least the mushed potatoes I tasted. That's all for now. Thanks.

We were visiting Le Harve from a cruise ship and found Le Grignot by chance. It has a lovely atrium outside the main restaurant where you feel outdoors but sheltered from the rain and with a bar so drinks service is sharp. The waiters were very friendly and efficient, the menu quite extensive with a wide range of fish and sea food as well as traditional french fare such as offal, escargot etc. The portions were most generous, all very well cooked , quite delicious actually. The prices were not cheap but fair value for the quality and service. If I'm ever in Le Harve again I'd definitely go back

My sister and I lunched there late August when we were on a cruise around the British Isles. When we arrived at Le Havre, a French lady selling tours recommended it for great sea food. She said good food and inexpensive. So true. The mussels were probably the best we have ever eaten (and we are foodies). We also chose the seafood platter, which was huge and wonderfully cooked and presented. The Manager spoke English well and was most pleasant. We arrived late yet we were not rushed. Other patrons were friendly and all in all it was a fantastic experience and quite unexpected on a cold wet day. The dog at the next table added to the ambiance - so French!!

Nicely located next to the Volcano and in the city centre, the restaurant looks nice and modern. With their outside, but sheltered and roofed terrace, it has a lot going for it.The food served are big portions, so you'll not go hungry. But every course we had (3 each) was almost totally tasteless which is very unusual in France.A "terrine de foie vollailes" was enormous but no taste at all. It looks like the chef forgot to use any spices.Service started out fast, but when the restaurant filled up it become very, very slow.As for the food quality vs price, it's way too expensive for the quality served, even the quantities are high. It's a pity, since for us it had all the promises for a regula...
