"Having read several great reviews my husband booked this restaurant several weeks in advance, as advised, as it was near our hotel. It was for a special birthday meal. The whole place looked tired, with brightly coloured patio-chair cushions placed on top of the faded velvet seats. The distressed look did not inspire a well worn charm however, as the tables were so small I couldn't get my legs underneath And it just felt unkempt and not well loved. The menu was pricy but we were not perturbed. We had expected it to be expensive. We anticipated great food. We were the third table to arrive and only 2 more couples arrived after us. Not the heaving hoards we had been lead to expect. We were not offered tap water by the waiter despite asking for it. He remained resolute in his French repeating Evian or badoit? as I asked yet again for eau de table, tap water? My husband like fizzy water so he ordered that. However after our starter we saw another waiter (possibly the owner) offering tap water. We sighed. Our starter was ravioli with langoustine and a cream sauce. We got a bowl of sauce with pieces of lobster in it but no ravioli. I said "ravioli?" He replied yes. There were a few broken pieces of pasta under the sauce. It tasted good but I was egg with the feeling that a French couple would not have got this. It was meant to be ravioili! I think we got a broken parcel between us. The main course was also tasty but not wonderfully so. Despite ordering different meals, our plates looked remarkably similar. I didn't want to upset my husband so just ate it and smiled but I get cheated and underwhelmed. We have eaten in several restaurants during our time in Paris. This was the worst and the most expensive. I could see why the place was destroyed."

Great location, safe neighborhood, French atmosphere, choice on the menu is superb, well cooked dishes, and greta service. a super place to eat in , at the heart of Paris. Reasonably priced.

Très déçue par la qualité des plats. Le canard confit était extrêmement sec. Les accompagnements servis en petites quantités, peu goûteux. Seule la sauce au miel était bonne. Le tout était beaucoup trop cher. Et nous avons été nauséeux toute la soirée.

It's Bastille day and all is closed. A short walk from our hotel we stumbled upon Le Madeleine C resturant crowded with people.There is a reason why it's crowded, other than all else is closed, it is good, very friendly and a classic French Resturant but with service with a smile.The food, the wine and the price are all good.Will I return, yes! Do I recommend it, I do!

We went to Le Madeleine C for dinner, and were not disappointed!!!!! Cozy small restaurant in the heart of 8 arrondisment, family owned, and you know all food is cooked from the heart. Very friendly service, and amazing French food... my daughter tried escargot for the first time in her life and fell in love with it, foie gras was great as an appetizer, and as main course prepped differently, scallops in lobster cream sauce were tender and tasty.... all in all, wonderful experience in the center of the City of Lights..
