"Incredibly warm welcome. Madame serving with efficiency and good humor and Monsieur in the kitchen. The appetizer immediately sets the tone: a carrot soup to die for, I almost sauced the verrine with my finger but I didn't dare. As for the sot-l'y-laisse with morels and beef entrecôte, a taste journey in first class. Dessert with its strawberry tartlet and ice cream: the masterful highlight of this gastronomic symphony. What a great discovery! Only one regret: learning that our hosts are going to stop their activity in July. Thank you for this magnificent time that we were given to spend in this beautiful building."

"only to get to the small village of Suchy through fields and forests is a pleasure for the eyes. once we were warmly welcomed and sitting in a spacious dining room with a lot of social disparities in these pandemic times. it is the hunting season, so we have naturally ordered wild boar, roe deer and pork, perfectly boiled o pink medium price and accompanied by seasonal beside dishes and a delicious cognac sauce. many homemade desserts that choose for those with a sweet tooth. I tried a local red wine that was exactly right. we benefited from a 50% discount and were very satisfied with the overall experience."

"For many years, the LE Normand have been on the move and have lived the good and bad times since the original owners had the restaurant. The new owners are young and dynamic, have the restaurant a make-over in the café area and the terrace... which is excellent, they are looking to rebrand the name as LNA gives a young modern touch to the place. The most important thing is the food, the choice of wine and the service. There is a nice selection of sea fish, and meat, the first time that I had lunch for a business this week, Fillet de Perch, which served with and excellent salad in front of the hand, the meal it itself was nicely served with vegetables and French fries on the side. Later in the week went back in the week in the evening and had Steak Tartar, hand cut! Once again served beautifully, a piece from the bottom had to ask 3 times for the accompanying toast...this should not come 10min later with the meal. Service is overall very good and friendly, Saturday evening they were pretty busy on the terrace and inside as well as I think they were a little overwhelmed. The wine list is very good, mostly local wine I find is very good to promote the excellent wines of the region. The price is very reasonable, we will often go back because they deserve the support."

"Le Toucan was recommended to us by a family who live in Orbe, which is about a ten minute drive from their home. We found the restaurant staff to be very friendly as we all struggled a bit in communicating between French and English, but we had good service and very good food the three times that we dined here. The menu features many salads and pizzas and a selection of interesting entrees. The grilled lake perch was on the menu for all of our visits and it was actually very good, although I'm no sure that it came from nearby Lake Geneva. If you come during nice weather I would definitely recommend that you dine outside on the terrace, which is shaded by tall old trees and is quite nice. In cooler or rainy weather, the inside dining area is divided into the white-table cloth dining room and the wooden table café sides, both of which offer the same menu. One of the evenings that we were there with our two grandchildren we sat in the more casual café area and the service and food were as good as the night that we sat on the terrace - but sitting outside when possible is clearly the better option. This is not a "destination" restaurant, but if you are in the vicinity of Orbe I would certainly recommend it."

"Le roi du taquet, je suis OK, mais pas l’empereur ! Je m’explique…. accueil sympa, service souriant et attentif, le taquet au top, viande très tendre, sauces maison ? (je ne sais pas, mais en tout cas tout comme et les frites impeccablement croustillantes; mis à part que pour le prix on se serait attendu à une petite salade mêlée avant le taquet. Le dessert, selon mon épouse, n’a jamais été aussi bon (café glacé .Tout semble parfait et impeccable, MAIS il manque ce je ne sais quoi qui ferait la différence avec la concurrence. Ce truc qui me pousse à faire des kilomètres pour venir ici, plutôt qu’ailleurs. Donc quand même très satisfait dans l’ensemble, merci à l’équipe."
