"“All right, let’s try this,” says my wife on the return journey of Solingen, when I propose to her some restaurants, including the L’Osteria in Troisdorf and Bonn. Since we want to eat pasta or pizza, I have included the L’Osteria in the choice of some “real” Italians. Although system gasonomy? Do we become friends? As Troisdorf is closer to the route than Bonn, we decide to look at the L’Osteria. It's warm summer weather, we want to sit outside. After Bonn we can still continue to drive, because there is the pizzeria with a large terrace directly on the Rhine. We drive to the large parking lot for the guests of L’Osteria in front of the cube-like, clinkered construction on the edge of a Troisdorf commercial area and see the large-area terrace with parasols behind the restaurant when leaving. “Come on, let’s see if we find a place on the terrace,” I encourage my love, and we enter a hall-like guest room with a rectangular beard in the middle, behind which the pizzaiolos work in an open cucina. Bright tables, dark benches and chairs, modern barges with a lot of chrome dominate the market hall-like space. A young lady welcomes us kindly at the entrance and encourages us to take place at one of the still free tables on the terrace. On a light brown round table with chrome stalls as in the interior of the house we leave on the terrace. Terrace A red parasol row and awnings on the house wall protect from the sun on the spacious terrace overlooking the green. A dressing with order terminal and service equipment is the center for several service personnel – all young ladies and gentlemen, black top, brown L’Osteria apron – on the terrace. We got a nice place, we sit comfortably, we like it here: four stars for the atmosphere out here. We hardly welcomed a very friendly young man, handed over the menus and brings another chair to our little table where we can lay our bags. Mostly the young man serves us the evening. He is extremely courteous, very friendly and – you can see – well trained in the service. Demands as to whether everything is right and we like it are obvious. The service personnel who bring the drinks from the bar to the terrace are all friendly and accommodating. There is a small operating range at the espresso for my wife. The young man, who brings this from the bar to the terrace, is mistaken for a while with the espresso, returns to the output area, returns to the goal without hints, so that my wife already fears a lukewarm espresso. He is still hot, but the five stars are no longer available for service: four and a half seem appropriate to us. We're studying the menus on our sun cookies. Pizza, pasta and salads are mainly offered. We'll get to the pizzas. The friendly young man then picks up our order: • Braccio di Ferro (spinet, egg, cheese, garlic for € 9.75 for my enthusiasts and • Rustica (Mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, olives, onions, oregano, Piccante for 11. € for me. As drinks we choose • Lugana Rosetti DOC (4.50 € for my wife and for me as a carriage • Bitburger alcohol-free (3. € for 0.3 l). After a while, the drinks come to the table well cooled, but the wine of my wife is in a wine glass unusual for a restaurant. Lugana Rosetti DOC Bitburger alcohol-free Later my wife drinks another Lugana that tastes her well. It doesn't take too long until a young serviceman brings two pizzas, almost as big as a car wheel, to our table. The serviceman calls us the diameter: 46 cm. Wow, no longer a model dimension: 1.44 m in size. Nothing can be seen from the plates. Braccio di Ferro Rustica Both pizzas are extremely well made. They are crispy on the edge, thin on the inside and abundantly covered. Since we're both Chili Junkies, we're still adding chili oil to strengthen the wort. My wife praises the spinach /bone blue lining, which she tastes very well due to the noticeable garlic along with the chili oil. I like my rustica with the abundant onions and tomatoes. However, the “piccante” from the description of the pizza is coined to German average tastes. I have to "soil" with Chili. We have our trouble with the car wheels, but we can do it. “I don’t think I can make a pizza of 46 cm in diameter,” my wife says. But as large as the pizza was on the one hand, as thin as it was on the other. We note that some guests accept the offer of the restaurant to take home the uncoated remains of pizza packed with. We are both extremely satisfied with the Italian pasta, perfectly prepared, tastefully very good and abundantly occupied. That's what we're giving five stars. With “Dolci” or the like we can no longer come. We're pappy. My wife takes an espresso (1.75 €), which is then served on the terrace after mistakes and confusions. He's still hot, my wife is happy. I'm talking to another Bitburger. As far as cleanliness is concerned, we have nothing to complain about. The service personnel ensure clean tables, dishes and glasses are also exemplary clean. The toilets with both the ladies and the gentlemen are modernly furnished, well maintained and clean. The invoice that our competent serviceman submits is €37.50. The prices surprise us with the service and kitchen performance shown – but in the positive sense. Such giant pizzas for about ten euros, you can't really mock. And we haven't had an espresso for € 1.75. Prices and performance are in a very good relationship here. We give five stars for the price/performance ratio. Our scepticism regarding system gastronomics has disappeared, in any case, in relation to the L’Osteria in Troisdorf. We recommend a visit there, and we are happy to come back. So by the way, I notice: There's nothing wrong with our visit. Jubilees can't go wrong. Finally, this post is my hundredth at GG."

"We were invited to a birthday party at Forsthaus Telegraph. When planning the route, we came across the very positive reviews, which Forsthaus Telegraph has received online. Our expectations were therefore quite high and we were not disappointed!ServiceTo serve a four course menu plus a delicious "greeting from the kitchen" and drinks timely and stress free is not easy. The team at Forsthaus' Telegraph managed to serve politely and quietly.FoodOur host had a good hand in choosing the menu. The starter was a Tartar from "Matjes" with spring salad and small potato pancakes. Down to earth, Northern and good, but for my taste the potato pancakes were a bit greasy. The Crèmesoup of curry with mango strips was a tasty, well-chosen contrast. For the main course, there was a very tasty fillet of pork with herbs on malt beer sauce and vegetables. The Palatinan Pinot Blanc and the Pinot Noir from the Nahe were good, combining well with the food. When the dessert variety "Forsthaus Telegraph" was served it became very quiet in our room, it was very good. The Forsthaus Telegraph follows the habit of using UHT milk for latte, which unfortunately is widespread in Germany. Not using fresh milk leads to a one point deduction on the rating. However, on a positive note, it should be mentioned that the team was on hand to alternatively prepare coffee with fresh whipped cream.AmbianceThe Forsthaus Telegraph is modern, however it has many rustic features and original features.CleanlinessThe modern toilets and the guest rooms were spotlessly.LocationThe Forsthaus Telegraph lies south of the runways of Cologne-Bonn airport (CGN), on the edge of the military restricted area, in the "Kaiserforst" at Wahner Heide. I did not hear the airport, not even on the outside terrace. The environment is quiet and green. The Forsthaus Telegraph deserves an almost unqualified recommendation."

Calabria

Calabria

Am Herrengarten 1, Siegburg I-53721, Deutschland, Germany

"And again, we're on our way home on 12th. November the trade traffic jams on the A3 in Cologne. “Calabria in Siegburg?” I ask my wife while we roll to Frankfurt. She understands immediately and nods. After 7 p.m. we are finally in Siegburg and directly control the then fee-free parking “Mühlentorplatz”. From here it is just a few minutes walk to the Herrengarten, a residential and business area in the Siegburg pedestrian area. Here in Herrengarten 1 the Calabria advertises with “Italian specialties in the heart of Siegburg”. The Calabria stands out through an outdoor gastronomy and a winter garden-like pre-construction from a row of houses and business houses in a literal sense. The awning is actually only an extended awning, which has been fastened to glass side walls with sealing tape. In the interior, heaters provide sufficiently high temperatures, one of which ensures strong warmth during our visit. We take place here on a brown foursome table in cozy chairs with white-grey plastic mesh. From here we look into the wine bar on the ground floor of the reddish-brown-clinked building, through which we entered the pavilion. The path through the wine bar is not wide, on the one hand a modernly designed standout counter, on the other hand in front of an ocher-colored wall with a suspended Gabione a table row, to which a further table row is connected in front of a somewhat pre-built wall. The Mediterranean flair of the room is reinforced by the bright tile floor. The actual restaurant is located in the basement, which can be reached via a staircase next to the entrance door. At the walk to the toilets that are also in the basement, we get an impression of the restaurant. No one sits here, a guesthouse sits at a long table row in the wine bar, guests who still come after us take place like we in the pre-built pavilion. An impression of the restaurant is given by the pictures I have set. We evaluate the ambience as okay, so three stars. Service Quick is the service. We barely took a seat when a young man obviously gives us South European origin the menus. A young lady supports him, she's fast too. Both are attentive and friendly, clean up the used dishes in a timely manner, give and ask for our satisfaction. The service does a good job, four stars. The menu offers the Ristorante-Pizzeria usual, pasta, pizza, Mediterranean meat and fish dishes, complemented by a table with daily dishes at the transition of the wine bar to the pavilion. The level is already slightly elevated. We want a tasty, hot, at least well seasoned pizza. And a little salad may be. After we have chosen, the young man notes for my wife a – Pizza Mena with Italian Salami, Mozzarella and Champignons (10.90 € , one – Pinot Grigio (0.25 l to 5,60 €; 0.1 l to 3,50 € , one – mineral water (0.25 l to 2,30 € and for me also one – Pizza Mena and one – alcohol-free beer (2.50 € of the thirdliter). The Pizza Mena has recommended us the young man to our question, which of the pizzas is sharp. The salami on it is sharp. For caution, we order sharp oil. As I said, the service is fast. Nearly ten minutes after the order, the young man appears again with two steaming pizzas, apparently rich 30 centimeters in diameter, and a neatly loaded salad plate. The pizzas are exemplary baked, inside nicely thin, getting thicker to the outside. On the edge they are crispy, the salami slices are really sharply spiced, the oil ordered to increase the sharpness. Thick slices of Mozarrella are baked and melted. Fresh basil leaves and oregano give additional Mediterranean spices. The pizzas taste good. The mixed salad is a decent portion. It consists of leaf salads, tomato quarters, cucumber slices, corn, red onions, fresh red cabbage, ruccola, black olives, grilled zucchini and a honey melon slice. A baked dough strip lies above the salad hill, a small bowl with a scavenging, creamy dip is added. The salad is fresh and crisp, not dressed. The salt-peffer-oil-balsamico-position standing on the table is used instead of the scree-like crème for seasoning according to our Gusto. Even the salad tastes good. Both the pizzas and the salad are above average in size and quantity. We both fight with the pizzas and the salad portion and are glad that we have only taken a salad. Finally, we are pappy and highly satisfied with the consumed. The food is worth four stars, we've eaten well. Cleanliness Here we don't see any reason to mocker. Eßutensilen are clean, toilets, both men's and women's toilets, too. However, they have already come a little into the years and could make a renovation. Note good for cleanliness and four stars. The price-performance ratio service and food are good. However, the price level dampens the assessment of the price performance ratio. The amount and size of the portions does not change this. We do not value our pizzas and salads, both in the transmitted and in the word literally. Nevertheless, we think the price-performance ratio is okay, but not good, so “just” three stars. The conclusion We drive well saturated and satisfied home. We do not regret the visit to Calabria, and once again the appetite for a large, tasty pizza, we are happy to go back. A total ranking between okay and good we think is reasonable, therefore three and a half stars."
