"On Thursday 7 Sept I travelled to Swanage from Portsmouth on the paddle steamer Waverley and we arrived late lunchtime at the pier. It was very warm and whilst looking around for something to eat, I didn’t fancy the fish and chips I normally have when I do this trip, but there seemed little else on offer that day. Wandering around, it was my good fortune to come across your premises down a side lane, so I thought I’d pop in. The retail experience I had there was the best I have had anywhere this year. I am now an OAP and retired, but in my working life I was a Customer Service Manager for a multi national concern, so I tend to notice service standards. The young lady who served me on that day was cheerful, attentive, totally at ease, obviously enjoyed her work and was very helpful in recommending me what to have (I decided on the Ecuadorian chocolate drink, with a Dorset apple cake, in case you wondered…Oh yes, I followed that with an ice-cream….. . She was a real credit to your establishment and another couple there at the same time agreed what a lovely experience it was when being served by her. I regret I didn’t get her name, but I am sure you will know who she is. Please thank her for me and treasure staff like her. They are becoming rarer these days and not to be taken for granted…."

"Food was delicious, hot and plentiful, wine was good and not overpriced. Our server was very helpful explaining about the different dishes on the specials board, it's not a huge menu but personally I prefer that as it makes choosing starters mains just that little bit easier. The chef was able to adapt my husband's lamb dish to incorporate Dolmades, nothing was too much trouble. Also after we had finished our meals the chef came out to ask if we had enjoyed our food which was a lovely touch, as so often you never get to meet the person who create and construct such wonderful dishes and who work so hard behind the scenes. 10 10"

"After seeing reviews on Tripadvisor we decided to book this restaurant. And we are so pleased we did. We were greeted with a smile had the menu explained to us. You could either have 2 or 3 courses. We opted for 2 as didn’t have room for a dessert. We both thoroughly enjoyed our starters (garlic prawns caprese salad) mains (rib eye steak beef curry) everything was delicious piping hot. I do think that the acoustics to the softly played music could be improved. This however didn’t spoil our evening at all. This was by far our best meal in Swanage."

"One of the best restaurant experiences ever. Service that was just right- not to intrusive but also,not left alone. Food was amazing- great quality and all very fresh. Second time we have visited and I was concerned it wouldn't live up to the first great experience- I need nit have worried! Well recommended."
