"Wonderful place, the staff are attentive, professional, courteous, and caring. You will not find better cafe service, and there is a happy, easy and relaxed atmosphere even the staff give off the feeling that they are happy to be there. The music is varied and ambient enough to provide an unintrusive background. The cafe itself is stylish, clean, and sectioned carefully to cater to multiple types of customer at once without overlap. Food and drinks are of a high quality, it may be on the pricier side for some but is worth every penny."

"Great, in fact fantastic food. The restaurant had a very casual and relaxing feel to it, which I liked. The decor is a bit cheesy but that's the nature of the beast. Apart from us there were over 20 other patrons, all Chinese. Obviously you feel reassured of food quality if actual Chinese people are frequenting the restaurant and having a good time. If I had to picky, I'd say the main waiter, with the ear ring!, needs to cheer up a little. At least look like you enjoy the job mate...."

"Our search for high quality restaurants in and around Orpington received a massive boost after our visit to Indian Essence. The exterior and location are rather unassuming but do not be fooled by that the quality of the food is exceptional, befitting the connection the restaurant has with Benares. The Daal Makhani and the Tandoori Murg dishes were particular favourites and the overall experience was enhanced by the complimentary amuse bouch. However, on the downside the restaurant was practically empty and lacked any atmosphere at all although this could be due to the post Xmas blues. "Three course set menu, £58.95 per person, does not include sides at £5.50 each. If you want salmon as a starter, it’s a £4.50 supplement; steak is an £15.00 supplement. Our bill for food (only) £117.90+£11.00+£4.50+£15.00=£148.40. Food was excellent. Wine was reasonably priced at under £40.00. Cocktail Kir Royale un chilled, no trimmings such as raspberries really basic cost a draw dropping £14.95. Waitress initially gave our drinks order to wrong table! Coffee was very strong I asked if I could pour it in a larger cup and have more hot milk and water, Americano as ordered, but I was told I couldn’t have a larger cup as they didn’t have any. However, I was offered it to be made weaker for me. At nearly £4.00 per small cup, I declined. Total bill for two people £272.00 tax and service. Overall, this restaurant is pricey, yet it’s amazing food. I think the set menu is a little deceiving as the sides and steak (easily enough for two) are extra as I mentioned. I was very disappointed with my Kir Royale as I have previously had this cocktail more appealingly presented in upmarket London restaurants. We would visit this restaurant again minute cocktails and coffee."

"Me and my fiancee visited on Saturday 9th August 2014 and we absolutely loved the place. I had Lahmacun (turkish pizza) to start and it was lovely, loads of salad. My fiancee had trio of dips which she thoroughly enjoyed. For main I had Lamb Kofte Beyti which is out of this world! My partner had Kleftiko which the meat fell out the bone Delicious! They also had a live singer on the guitar who was very very good. Will definitely be returning in the near future and have already recommended to friends and family."
