it is really kitschig for tourists. Eating is okay, but nothing special. the service was at the end ok, but at the beginning it was quite difficult to even order. the prices are normal, but it was nice to be there once.

we have reserved our last stay in this restaurant. the ambiente and the decor was nice, but the service was very slow. the food was seasoned with salt. it was a scandal when the medieval atmosphere was rolled up with the calligraph menus

that is a surprising restaurant. the atmosphere awakes luthers time. Inside, eating and personal standing all still in the time. eating is simple but good. note that they enter a remarkable place and restaurant and simply enjoy what they get. they have a nice time... Ver carta

Very bad experience there . No English speaking staff . Couldn't get most items on the menu . Changing from big menu to small menu in the middle of the evening unacceptable. Wifi not working . Service poor and slow .Food was very fat and...dishes very creamy . Restaurant nicely decorated and nice seating outside .

Great atmosphere, very medieval, loved the candles and clay jugs and drinking horns. Only slight problem was that the menu was a bit hard to read under candlelight. Food was fabulous. Had ribs which was wonderfully glazed, juicy suckling pig roast. Sides were perfect too. Price is about the same as other restaurants.

I visited this restaurant on a Monday evening. it wasn't really busy. I sat on a table and the server asked me what I wanted to drink. I was brought a beer and that was the last one that the waiter kept on my table. I waited over an hour and no one came to my table to see what I wanted to order from the menu. I finally got up and paid for my beer and left. it is a themed restaurant, how a tavern would look like in luthers time to detail that they cannot read the menu because it is too dark. The ambiance draws one into the scenes of the reformation period and is totally charming. Cold speciality mugs of beer fit into drilled holes on the heavy wood tables and menus are rolled scrolls in either German or Available in English. Candlelight and straw in...the floors provide additional atmosphere . We ordered various dishes which included disappointing dumplings that were gummy and red cabbage which was thickened with a cornstarch like gel . Our visit that started so well deteriorated as we tried to expedite service. We were ignored , empty dishes were not cleared, we asked for dessert which was ignored and after two hours were told we had to wait 20 minutes for it to be prepared. Un...

...then I have a secret tip for you .... you are welcomed from the staff in middle aged costumes and language ... the rooms are not very large ... but very well equipped .... great internet ... .different pay tv programs for free .... something...to drink for free .. the location is central .. and the night very quiet .... great service ..... great breakfast .... great dinner .. We booked a historical Lutterschmaus It fit's everything ... every little thing was right ... it started with the clay jugs ... and ended with the delicious food .... straw on the floor ... many candles ... everyone felt back in the time of Martin Lutter in the 16th century. Even the toilets are an eye-catcher ........

The welcome was not very warm by the stuff. Half of the tables were closed with chains and they did not seem happy to open one for us where we wanted to sit away from some tables with smoker companies... Then unfortunately the stuff did...not speak much English, but we could manage to order anyways with our poor German knowledge (BTW there is English menu). The food was decent and most of the decor and the style of the restaurant is great (except some waiters wearing sneakers with medieval clothes.. Our dessert order was also mixed up, maybe because of the language barrier. There was a dessert for 2 people on the menu that we ordered for two of us, but we got 2x2, so 4 of them charged. We to...
