Makamba - Carta

Makamba offers a unique dining experience in Stuttgart. The food is traditional Ethiopian and is normally eaten using the pancak-like bread in the fingers. The wine list includes both South African and German wines. The service is outstanding.

I liked the probier platte specially the Bamya and the aubergine, perfectly spiced. Its very relaxed, dont go there if ur in a hurry! Just take ur time. Its sometimes challenging to eat Non fingerfood with the fingers, but it can bring up some...funny moments... Just enjoy Ver carta

Nach langer Zeit waren wir zusammen mit Freunden mal wieder im Makamba. Die Speisen waren spitze wie eh und je. Zum ersten mal haben wir zum Schluss einen Kaffee getrunken, der mit frisch gerösteten Bohnen zubereitet wurde und sagenhaft geschmeckt hat. Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal...

Wem die einfache afrikanische Küche mundet ist hier genau richtig. Die Gerichte sind schmackhaft und gut gewürzt. Die Preise rangieren zwischen 8 und 13 € für ein Hauptgericht und sind damit für stuttgater Verhältnisse sehr günstig. Die Bedienung ist sehr nett und zu Scherzen aufgelegt. Die Einrichtung ist recht rustikal.

I had never been in an Eastern African restaurant before so a friend who lives in Stuttgart took us there. The food was very nice, the space is well decorated and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. However, they lack of staff and the service...was very slow. We wanted to try some African food and after searching some options which were closed we finally landed here. Food taste was certainly good and authentic but we had to wait for whole hour before we got served. Service is extremely slow and they...ran out of their typical bread. We were given options of rice and khus-khus which to our surprise was charged separately. The bread is included in the meal and not charged separately. We were on the verge of cancelling our order and leaving when we got served.

I was at Makamba in Stuttgart with a group of friends. I already had experience of African restaurant and I tend to be skeptical. We arrived at Makamba and we were soon immersed in a soft candle light atmosphere. The place is small and furnished...with African things and the menu is quite large and there is a wide choice of dishes from which to choose equally divided in Ingera dishes (the typical African omelette that you eat by hands) or rice that you can eat by hands. We tried several dishes and we were overall satisfied. the portions are large, the food well prepared and spiced and even if the place was full the ordering time was reasonable. we were there for a family dinner. the positive first: the ambiente, the service, the hygiene are all very good. this is the place you would choose if you prefer a cozy dinner and have a good time with family friends. because it. is a popular restaurant, better to do pre-booking. they receive a lot of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic and vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian dishes. but unfortunately, the choice for two of us who are purer veg and cannot stand in garlic was quite limited. it is certainly not a debt of the restaurants. we simply capture this here so that you can choose this place for food as an informed diner! we enjoyed the starter samosa and a spicy pfanncake type do...
