Mangal Ocakbasi 2 - Carta

The chicken breast was very tasty and moist. The lamb a bit tougher but aromatic and very good taste. Service was good and loo review 7/10

I heard about this place after someone recommended their twitter account and I have to say that is more enjoyable than a visit to the restaurant.

I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. The food was below par and the prices were exorbitant. I have never been so let down by a meal before. I don't understand why this place is so popular. Ver carta

Food was good with unusual ingredients and flavour combos. A lot more upmarket than I had been expecting. Lamb was delicious. But portions are small and very expensive. £80 for 2 starters, 1 main and 3 drinks.

We went to mangal with my family for lunch. They said there’s no table available when they had 4 seat table near the door. They had 1 person sitting on a table for 6. Rude and bad service very surprised as we been going there for long time .

The food at Mangal was superb. Big, bold flavours with a great mix of tastes and textures. We were spoilt for choice by the excellent menu, and everything we had was delicious. Also the service was great. The staff were really friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable about the food. We definitely want to go back. Ver carta

I arrived at the restaurant alone and found that there were tables available, but I was told they were fully booked because I was dining solo. Eventually, they offered me a table when they realized no one else would be coming in on a weekday. Overall, the experience was terrible and I will not be returning. If a solo woman cannot dine at their restaurant, it speaks volumes about their principles.

Sadly it was a really poor experience in every way, for a birthday. From the food quality to the service. We left an email to which no response. It just reflects that the reputation and customer experience (or feedback) is really not of importance for Mangal 2. I held off leaving a bad review as it is frustrating to do so, but we sent the email two weeks back. Maybe we were not just unlucky, but one of many that have experienced the same.

The food at this restaurant is very good, but the main course portions are too small. My partner, who is vegetarian, did not have many options besides fried food and an aubergine dish, which she does not like. The waitress made a mistake with our starter order, but she did not delay the main course, so we ended up receiving both at the same time. The drinks menu is not impressive. Overall, the food is great as long as you are not a vegetarian, but the portions are small and the prices are high. Ver carta
