"When we got to hotel they could not find a record of our booking, even though earlier that morning I had been called by the hotel to confirm the appointment. I showed them the confirmation e -mail you had sent to confirm the booking, but they still said they had no record. The waitress was polite and tried to help, she said because there were only two of us they should be able to find somewhere for us. Eventually after about 15 minutes we did get shown to our table, and the afternoon tea was served, which was nice. We did enjoy the food but perhaps more guidance for the younger members of staff, in how to deal when a problem arises from a more experienced member of staff, would have been helpful ."

Very disappointing. From when we sat down, service was very slow. We were presented with starters to share with no sharing plates. And then finally when bill came, we were overcharged £100!

The food was enjoyable, the steak was a bit fatty but overall it was satisfactory. The menu items were slightly disappointing due to limited selection. The staff was extremely helpful and polite.

the afternoon tea was average. the selection of sandwiches/savouries was limited and the selection of cakes was disappointing. I would also suggest that the porcelain used could be more attractive as it was more kantine than hotel.

the food was good: the excellent scenes, the cake so, the service was decent. I think it could have been so much better. how about real tea and coffee tea bags and brewed. beautiful old china tassen against commercial tassen and teller. it is a beautiful environment, a great place for a high time, but felt as by afternoon tee was just an add on.
