Every single dish is a delight and the total cost is less than EURO30. 2) Wonderful service: the waiter/manager is friendly and helpful. Unlike some restaurants in Berlin where "service" is non-existence and waiters tend to teach you how/what to eat, Matreshka has a comfortable and unpretentious vibe. 3) Complementary top-notch vodka: We were offered great quality vodka to go with our meal and cranberry liquor after the meal. Unassuming and low key place with typical heavy European food. The best bit is the good vibes...and the free bottle of vodka for the table.....!!! Worst bit...monday hangover.

I have been a couple of times to Matreshka, blinis are ok, pelmeni not that much, the special tea with mermelade is quite interesting. I guess I just can say that the food and drinks are ok, but for the price they do not reach excellency.

Te place is nice, the dishes are really big and super tasty. I discover this restaurant and I come back twice in the week. Vodka shots are from the house, included in the price. Super friendly prople, nice and polite. A must in Berlin!! ????????????????????????

Great restaurant with excellent service! Our tourguide recommended this restaurant, and I am glad he did. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was good and the half Russian/German guy took really good care of us. If you go here, definitely try some vodka (Ask for the Ukrainian).

I had gulasch, which I would not order again. Even though I always have rather small portions, the gulash plate was even for me very small. I was still hungry when we left. Pelmeni was good. A friend did not like his "wareniki with sauerkraut" much. Other 2 friends enjoyed their "oliv'je salad" and "paprikaschote"; no surprises, at least for me expected taste. The prices are not really expensive but for the small portions, I would question the price.

We were there for a late lunch. The food was Russian comfort food. Delicious! We had stuffed peppers, stuffed cabbage, and potatoe schnitzel. Everything was great! The service was good, place was very clean. They were very accommodating about gluten free needs. I have a paper printed in German explaining celiac. The waiter carefully read the information and took it into the kitchen before confirming gluten free items on the menu. Three full meals for under 30 euros. Also in a very fun, eclectic area of the city.
