"Victoria was very busy, but the service was great and very fast. The staff was friendly and on the ball. There were some vegetarian options that could be easily changed to make them vegan. No specific vegan menu, but with the online lactose-free menu I was usually able to work for myself with some consultations. At the beginning I chose the vegetarian Haggis candies that had a nice taste, but were very dry and quite hard. Then for the main I chose the Mediterranean herbal fajitas that are vegan without the acid cream. Your arrival attracted a lot of attention when the plate was annoyingly blinded! The part was huge and I fought for it. The veg was smokey and tasty and the guacamole and salsa made it very good. Would highly recommend the Fajitas. Other vegan options on the dinner menu include a chickpea and lentils Dahl, salads, pasta and pizza, where milk cheese can be extracted for vegan cheese. I found that Victoria has the most vegan options in the local area."

"Covid-19 has affected all the restaurant vegan options in Pitlochry and after walking around the town twice was ready to give up but decided to ignore the mixed reviews on here for Cafe Calluna and give it a go. We were grateful that they had 2 options. We both had the humous and tomato paninis for £6.95 each but they also offered soup of the day (Tomato). They were pretty disappointing and had half a bag of crisps on the side. 4 plant milks were offered for coffee so we had oat lattes, which were ok but under extracted, so watery and sour. For their credit they had one vegan cake option, lemon and coconut, which was delicious."

"I don't often post reviews, but felt I should be pubing on this big little one. eating was excellent, good portion size and favorable. at the end of our eating we have to mention where we lived, what was a 25min walk away. the weather was cruel, very violent rain. the employee (denomination? use us a real offer from a lift to our accommodation. what a beautiful thing to do."

"I was recommended to go to the far cottage restaurant and I am grateful that I was the appetizer of scallops on baby blood puddings was amazing not a combination I would ever work. my man and I shared two principally the medaillons of venison and the duck breast. both were very different, but just like yummy we had no desserts, but I had a beautiful wee I wish I remember the names. it paired equally well with the venison and the duck of the service was inconspicuous and helpful. I wish I had lived close to me so I could go back and forth to see what other recipes they come with."

"We visited the lounge bar. I remember the bar having a wonderful selection of single malts several years ago. But this time, it was quite different. First of all, the menu lists many many whiskies that are not available. The names are not spelled correctly and the prices don’t make sense. The core range whiskies are at a very high price and some whiskies, like the Laphroaig 25, are listed at 18£. When we asked for it, we realized the price is actually 170£ on one of the menus (it’s been corrected by hand, and highlighted but only on one menu unlike the four other menus). They also didn’t have it anyway. The staff was really really nice and tried to help as much as they could. But they didn’t know what to do, as the « whisky manager » wasn’t there. He probably hasn’t been there for a while because the menu is not updated at all. The friendly staff asked us to follow them to see the whisky collection which is located above the heater. The wooden cabinet is very very hot and you can notice condensation due to heat in the bottles. What a shame. A lot of the whiskies in the collection are not on the menu. And the waiters have no idea about the price. They have to contact the whisky manager to ask for information every time we ask for a price. In the end, we get to order nice drams. But it took us more than 30minutes. We’re in a region where many people come to visit distilleries. They really have an interest in trying nice whiskies. And this bar was such a nice place for that in the past. It’s not the case anymore. One of our friends wanted to order a glass of port wine. The prices listed were insane. We then realized it was the bottles and not by the glass. On other wines, there was a price for the bottle and a price for the glass. But here, nothing was mentioned. On top of that, the menus are dirty, have stains and fall apart. This is not what you’d expect from such a place. This is unacceptable for a 5 star hotel. I want to thank the two waiters who did their best to help us. This situation is definitely not their fault. And they had to find a way to make it work because somebody else did not do his job. I’ve been here many times in the past with professional people working in the whisky industry. This bar was such a beautiful place. But it really felt like a joke on this very last visit."
