Mitre - Carta

Luke warm , small latte coffee, bland food , overpriced. Sticky tables, Have been twice before but won’t be returning. Have not been able to find a decent cafe on this side of the city, have tried several just for a decent coffee and a sandwich but to no avail…

I have spent a lot of time at the Mitre during my time in Norwich and the staff have always been friendly and welcoming. The service is quick and professional, and as far as I can tell, they have adapted brilliantly to new COVID restrictions. A great place to go! I highly recommend.

I am a regular patron at The Mitre in Norwich and have been for some time! The food options are simple yet delicious, and their coffee is fantastic- the best in this area of Norwich. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The service is consistently excellent, and the staff are always friendly and engaging. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Ver carta

The cappuccino was lukewarm, and after waiting a considerable time for our bacon rolls, the server asked if we wanted condiments. We requested ketchup, and my sister asked for a knife. I assumed they would also bring a knife and napkin, but they only brought a knife for my sister. Additionally, the bacon was almost burnt. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

We visited here for breakfast and were instantly impressed with the Covid safety measures put in place. Clear signage, easy to navigate floor markings and greeted straight away by a friendly member of staff. We had the vegan breakfast and bacon sandwich, which were both delicious and cooked to a high standard. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. We will definitely visit again!

Been 2 or 3 times post lockdown. Good procedures in place. Good service. Not sure what’s happened to the food though. This time my Wife thought she’d have a bacon roll/baquette. How the chef sent this out is beyond me. Absolutely cremated. Things have really got to improve. She now wishes and I wish she’d have sent it back. Not acceptable. My sausage and bacon ciabatta was better but the sausages may have changed and I wasn’t too keen on the taste. May be a while before we return. Ver carta

Coffee currently varies week on week. Sometimes water is too hot and burns the coffee making it too bitter. As I drink an Americano without sugar, this is particularly noticeable. It's not every week, but disappointingly too frequent now. Not a fan of the new cups bamboo and no handle. Bring back the crockery please. Choice of cakes and biscuits varies too. Used to do a yummy vegan peanut butter chocolate cookie but not had for sometime now. Will try again soon in hope things improve as I like the ethos behind the café but if not, I'll be looking elsewhere for my caffeine hit.

lovely, friendly staff and nice venue. The hot chocolates are amazing! but sadly recently ordered a breakfast and it was not as nice as it used to be. They no longer use butter and the toast was thickly spread with margarine which i had to scrape off. Also, the sausages were not good quality and i couldn't finish them. The breakfast was dripping in oil and i really think the black pudding should be replaced by some humble baked beans. In the past, i had an amazing bacon baguette but don't feel i can risk ordering it again based on this recent breakfast and probably won't order anything but hot chocolates from here for a while. it is a lovely place though and we have had many good experiences...

Went for brunch as a group of 6, staff seemed accommodating on arrival showed us the menu and to our table. However we were disappointed by the lack of breakfast options offered for being advertised as a breakfast place. Similarly for being advertised as a bar, there wasn’t many drinks offered to go with breakfast. We were told staff would take our order at our table, then asked to go to the bar. When ordering there was 3 members of staff behind the bar, yet only one interacted with us whilst the others did nothing but trip over each other.
