"This was the first and last time I will visit this coffee shop. Arrived with 2 friends for coffee and a light lunch. We were seated quickly outside but following that everything went downhill. No one came with a menu and when one of our party went inside to double check it was in fact table service, she was told to sit down and wait. We ordered coffees which were fine, along with scones and a sandwich. We were asked if we wanted clotted cream with the scones and we thought “why not”. The scones arrived and clearly weren’t fresh. They were rock hard and dry and our “clotted” cream was like cream from a spray can. Sandwich arrived no butter and no where near enough filling for the extremely thick bread. I will give top marks for the coleslaw though delicious! After deciding we couldn’t finish our food, we went inside to ask for and pay the bill. Whilst doing so, a young waitress spilled 2 cups of steaming hot coffee all down the front of herself. I immediately turned to ask if she was ok only to basically be shot down in flames by the rude lady at the till telling me not to worry, the girl was fine. She hadn’t even checked! We were extremely disappointed and wished we stuck to our usual place a few doors down where everything is faultless."

We went to this restaurant for breakfast and I ordered the pancakes. They were delicious, the coffee was great, and the service was quick and friendly.

Excellent fast service, nice window seat and super fresh sarnies with soup, which came with lovely homemade coleslaw, crisps and salad. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back when next in Pitlochry.

Stopped here for coffee and cake, both were great. Would recommend the custard creams and Victoria sponge. Staff were really nice. We were sitting outside and had a lengthy wait for a menu and service hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Ver carta

Stopped by for mid afternoon coffee and cake; fruit scones as it turned out. Sat outside in the sunshine, server was very friendly and chatty despite obviously being very busy. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and scones all excellent. Definitely will go back!

We stopped here for lunch whilst in the area. It was very busy inside but the very helpful waitress found us a table outside (it was nice and sunny so really nice). I had the Cullen Skink which was excellent and my husband had sandwiches which came with salad, coleslaw and crisps. If we lived nearer than we do we would certainly come again.

We are locals. This was recently taken over and was previously excellent but no longer I'm afraid. Service was not great, we waited 10 mintutes for a menu then new customers in an adjacent table were served first. We had to then ask for a menu. The sandwich was OK but the lentil soup was so salty if was pretty much inedible. Would not go back. Ver carta

We stopped by this charming café for a drink and ended up getting a sandwich to share. We were pleasantly surprised when our order arrived in two separate plates, each with a generously sized half sandwich, a side of dressed leaves, coleslaw, and crisps. The cheese and chutney sandwiches were delicious and filling, and we were impressed by the portion size. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this place, it was a delightful experience.

I recently visited this cafe in Pitlochry and it has quickly become a favorite spot for me. The flat white coffee was expertly made and served at the perfect temperature, which is often hard to find. My partner and I went three times during our visit and each time the coffee and cake were delicious. The staff were all very friendly and engaging, and I even received a complimentary cinnamon bun when I mentioned how good they looked. I will definitely be returning next time I am in Pitlochry.

"We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn 't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we 'd eaten there before (we hadn 't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads dips to tempt tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn 't very quick, but I didn 't think it was unduly long either just the right length of time for non fast food that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn 't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice creams, but in hindsight, I 'm glad I didn 't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won 't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local."

"This place has all the potential for a 5 star experience and you may well have it by going here! Unfortunately, we did not and it's worth explaining why. For context, we didn't stay overnight just had a meal in the restaurant one night and went to the beer garden another. Restaurant: Food was generally very good and prices reasonable. I'd especially recommend the tempura chard if it's on the menu! The setting of the restaurant is also lovely. However, we ended up waiting about an hour between starters and main meal 2 people . We were advised approx 40 minutes into the wait that one of the mains was no longer available and a substitute would be provided there was some gnocchi improvised from potato mash involved. Service were on top of this though and did remove this item from the bill. So in summary, good elements involved but a couple areas that could do with attention. Beer garden: We went along to the beer garden to catch the rugby world cup final. This was sadly quite a disappointing experience that ended up with the limited attendance clearing out before half time . In short, coverage only started after national anthems. No sound other than via headphones ?? , which didn't work ?! . Pizzas were pretty tasty but the cheese was stringy as a ball of yarn positive with no cutlery or tissues provided negative . And at c. £16 per pizza, felt a bit cheated by the whole experience. The rooms themselves look lovely and I'm sure on a summer's day if you're looking to enjoy some drinks and a bit of food in a lovely setting, the Taybank probably covers exactly what you're looking for! They also run a traditional music session in the main bar on a Thursday evening, which is absolutely worth checking out! But I'm afraid for us, it's unlikely we would rush back for anything other than that."
