"I really like Marks and Spencers and shop there a lot so would love to have given them a better review. Two of us tried their Turkey Feast sandwich, for Saturday lunch, which was excellent. Full of turkey, stuffing and cranberry couldn’t fault it. Their Christmas cake slice was also lovely, firm, full of fruit and scrumptious icing. The downside.... it took 15 minutes to pay for the goods and get two coffees. The queue wasn’t that long but the staff were so slow it was painful to watch. The cashier left the till twice to get cups and then teapots which meant the queue grinded to a halt. I did mention this to a member of staff who had a tie on, so I assume they were a supervisor or manager. He smiled and just explained that the barista needed more crockery. In the meantime he was just wandering around and could/should have stepped in and helped. Or got someone else who wasn’t on the till to replenish the crockery. The staff are friendly and seem really nice they are just badly managed. Come on M&S get your act together! We won’t be eating here again."

How frustrating that they no longer sell peppermint tea in the restaurant! I suggested they walked downstairs to the food hall and pick up a box, clearly they didn’t.

Friendly staff, a bit on the slow side for some items. It was nice to be personally asked if everything was OK also when we left, the staff said goodbye to us. Near the loo!

Popped in here for lunch last week and were served by a very rude member of staff! The restaurant was incredibly dirty with lots of tables but all full of empty plates etc... Would not return here!

I visit here a lot with friends and family. The staff are very friendly and they make the best chai latte. There food is basic toasted sandwiches, cakes etc. Always enjoyed what I've had. Definitely recommend for their chai latte.

We dropped in for a quick breakfast, and on seeing the menu the only full breakfast comes with a poached egg. Since neither myself nor my wife particularly like those, we asked to exchange them for a scrambled egg (scrambled egg on toast is another offered option) and was told that it wasn 't possible as stock levels would be affected.

Visited this store on Saturday. The place was half empty but could not find a table that had been cleared or cleaned. Appalling..place should be closed down..I counted at least 7 staff .. so enough staff to clean the place .. 1 member of staff walked across to take a scone to a table on walking away from table she must have seen all trays etc to be removed, but she ignored them so I shouted is anybody going to clear these tables..all I got was a dirty look..I could go on with lots more. But all I will say is I will not use this cafe again.

Firstly I am a constant client of M&S, and their food is greatThis last Saturday when visiting the Westwood Kent Store I decided to have breakfast at their Cafe.I expected it to be good in view of their reputationUnfortunately, it was a very poor experience. I ordered a breakfast of scrambled eggs with bacon, toast, and a side of baked beans. It was delivered to my table promptly, but.... the scrambled eggs were quite dry and rubbery, the bacon was only half cooked and inedible mostly fat, and the baked beans were coldNeedless to say I returned the dish to the plate collection area and advised a member of the staff that I was very unsatisfied only to get the reply it was cooked !! I did not...

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."
