"We were looking for somewhere to break our journey overnight. Just a couple of miles off of the M1 we had this hotel recommended by another which was full. Although a bit awkward to find we were not disappointed. The building is an old railway station and still maintains that character. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food is good home cooking and plentiful. The overnight rate included breakfast and represented good value for money. We liked it enough to go back a few days later on our return journey. As this this journey we frequently make I am sure we will be visiting again."

Lovely quaint pub and the staff were lovely. Nice breakfast. The dining room needs some painting and decorating, but it is an old building, so it just needs a bit of TLC

We spent two nights in the pub rooms and were pleasantly surprised. The room was large with a huge bed, tv with freeview, tea and coffee facilities and plenty of towels. We had room 5 and it was bright, quiet and clean. The service here was excellent and the ladies working downstairs were very accommodating and they even left us a pack up because we left early on our final morning. Breakfast was fresh and filling. Improvements could be made in the bathroom with the tiles and shower edging but these are only minor issues. Thanks to the staff for making our stay comfortable.
