Food and beer range excellent and good quality. Strong menu. Service a little on the slow side, it does feel as if the kitchen/bar can’t keep up with the number of tables. Unfortunately, the pub was very loud on this visit which did make the atmosphere a little unpleasant.

I went to view a couple of houses in Walton when I dropped on this excellent pub. It 's well worth the journey from Hood Green, Barnsley. Better than the Strafford Arms just a mile away from my home address. I 've been 3 times in the last fortnight. I loved the Sea Bass, which I asked for without looking at the menu on my last visit. My sister mentioned her chips were overdone, my neice commented similarly regarding her fishcakes. The first offering of Sea Bass I devoured was also a little overdone but this made it more delicious in my opinion. I downed the skin off the fish which was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Will definitely go again. Well done! Ver carta
