"This place is cheap, but the food tasted cheap. The battered halloumi was swimming in grease, in fact everything tasted greasy that we eat. Sides that were ordered never arrived apparently they had run out but did not tell us and no alternative offered. Staff were run off their feet as there were very few of them, so glasses, plates etc piled up on the table. Not an enjoyable meal and we would not return."

I have dined at this restaurant in the past, and was very disappointed. Despite my usual practice of giving places a second chance, I will not be returning. I ordered a cheese and tomato flatbread for my granddaughter, but instead received half of a tortilla wrap, not a flatbread.

Visited the pub to use the voucher and we were not disappointed. The staff were all nice and accomodating. Big portion of food. I love the fries, so crispy. My order includes dessert which I didn't realise and I love it. No problem with parking but the road might be busy as it's a main road. Thank you for a lovely meal.

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday for a family member's birthday celebration. We had a large table and everything was perfect. The staff, especially Josie, were amazing and went above and beyond for us, even though it was quite busy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. You will not be disappointed or leave hungry.

5 adults dining. It was very busy. We were advised that the food order would be delayed by 30 minutes. Appreciated the heads up. Staff were busy but helpful and cheerful. The food arrived in about 20- 30 minutes. Very good sized portions. Hot and well cooked. Everyone was happy. 5 different dishes. Sides of garlic bread and onion rings. No one has room for dessert. We will be back!

"My Wife and I don't travel so well these days but decided to go a little further afield from our usual Highcliffe and Christchurch haunts we live in Mudeford. We went twice in point of fact. The first visit was the 21st June when My wife and I had a quiet Birthday celebration lunch prior to the Family celebration later in the day. It was excellent. We only had the Mains and despite it being busy and not having booked we were served promptly and cheerfully with a round of drinks. My Wife had Chicken Pie and I had Liver and Bacon. Both were excellent and my Wifes vegetables were freshly done. I don't have vegetables. We liked it so much we went back three days later to celebrate our youngest Daughters birthday and again had lunch before the Family celebration later in the day. The meal was as fabulous as three days prior. My Wife had a Chicken Roast, our Daughter had Beef Roast and I had an amazingly well filled Steak and Merlot Pie of the Week. As before the vegetables were freshly done. Unusually for us we also had puddings (Lemon Meringue, Bailey's Cheescake and Apple Tart with Custard. All were excellent. All washed down with Tea and a Latte the former being served in nicely twee Teapots. Total cost £80 for the three of us on the second visit. Worth every penny. All in all First Class and couldn't fault it. Disabled parking nicely located in the front with ample parking for those more mobile at the side and back. Just a note for History buffs. The main building was built in 1853 by John Harrison(? a Carpenter thus the name Carpenters Arms."
