Will never return here again,staff were rude and unwilling to help with any questions I had. Food wasn’t the best either and when I asked for a fresh meal because mine was cold I was told ‘no’

We have been regulars at the Moat House Orangery for Sunday Lunch for very many years in all that time, the food has been excellent. This is prior to covid. The food we had today was by far the worst we have ever had...

So disappointing to see the bar menu in this shape and the team not the great team they were. We love this restaurant visiting every month to either the main restaurant or lounge bar but unfortunately the bar menu is just poor value these days.... Ver carta

The food was excellent, but the service left something to be desired. Our group of 10, with mixed ages, gathered for a family lunch. We found ourselves having to remind staff multiple times about our drink orders. It seemed that the bar service was slowed down due to a wedding and baby shower happening simultaneously. The Orangery restaurant itself was quite pleasant, though it lacked a bit of ambience.

The location was stunning, but the restaurant itself fell short. We had to wait 10-15 minutes at the bar every time we wanted to order food or drinks as there was no table service. The lettuce in the salad was brown, the steak was overcooked, and the steak sauce was missing. Both main courses appeared sparse and unappealing. After complaining, we received a free dessert, but the cheese plate came with rotting celery. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Ver carta

While cruising along the nearby canal, we decided to make a dinner stop at this restaurant. It happened to be their Tuesday grill night, so we chose Rib-eyes and a bottle of Italian red wine, which were all delicious and served to our liking. The service could have been a bit more attentive (we had to ask for drinks a few times), but the ambiance of the restaurant was charming with its Inglenook fireplace and paneling. Additionally, there were outdoor tables around the lakes for dining al fresco. It seems like this restaurant may cater more towards weddings or corporate events.

I stayed in this hotel for just the one night on 23rd April 2022 for my husband’s birthday as we was visiting the show grounds for 2 days, I really wished we had stayed for the 2 nights now as our experience was above and beyond the perfect stay. We visited the restaurant on the night and I usually have problems as I am gluten free but our waitress Caitlin made me feel like nothing was a problem and had the chef changed all my meal to suit, I can not thank her enough she deserves a medal for how many times she went out of her way to make it perfect the food was absolutely outstanding, so I would like to say a huge Thankyou to our waitress Caitlin and a 10 out of 10 for chef and his fabulous...

Wanted to go somewhere nice for breakfast where could be better than the Moat House. First checked what time the breakfast service was 9.00am 11.00am so booked for 5 adults 2 children 10.00am. Arrived a little early, as soon as we got there we were asked by the server to order I explained that there was 4 more to come and we would wait until they arrived we were then approached by a male member of staff who said we needed to order as breakfast finished at 10.00am.
