Nice cozy place close to castle of Castiglione del Lago. Fresh mussels, grilled fish. Tasty food, pleasant service.

We love this restaurant!!! The mixed grill is great. Melon and prosciutto fantastic. The mussels are out of this world. You will love it!

We visited this pizza place at lunchtime. We were amazed by the quality of the pizza. Certainly home made, home baked and topped with fresh tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and rocket. Just wonderful. Recommended for lunch..!!

family owners restaurant with typical Italian dresses not the industrial "tourist restaurant, as otherwise found in castiglione despite the size of our group (14,) everything went smooth. very friendly staff, price very interesting and delicious food! soon again

It was a lovely warm evening so we asked for a table outside. Had we known that there was a nice little balcony area at the back we would have chosen this. However, we were put at the back near the old wall and it wasn't really appealing! The Aperol Spritz was good and my husband liked his beer. We both liked out Wild boar ragu (a special of the day). It was busy so we were never given the dessert menu, but we didn't mind. We did have to ask for the bill in the end as we were just left.

It was a lovely sunny day and we were just passing as they prepared for lunch. We grabbed a lovely shaded table. Marco cam across who had spent many years working in merchandising in the U.K. He was very well informed regarding the many specials on the menu. We shared a great norcia ham and melon starter, followed by two pasta specials, one with truffles the other being pici with cheese, pepper and zucchini both these dishes were superb. We had great bottle for Bertai red. The service and friendliness from Marco and team were excellent and we look forward to returning very soon. Highly recommended.

We recently tried out Calandrino in Castiglione Del Lago as it looked like a great authentic Italian restaurant, we asked about the specials but as we don't speak Italian (sorry) and the two women we spoke to were maybe Albanian? Romanian? we weren't sure, it was difficult to understand what the different dishes were luckily for us we had help from Marco (tall, friendly guy working there) who was on hand to explain and recommend certain dishes and thanks to him we had some really good food including the specially locally produced beef called chianino which was delicious. Osteria Calandrino Review English This was our third visit in as many weeks as we live 30 minutes away. Our friends Alessandra and partner Alessandro were very impressed by the excelllent local Umbrian wine Vermentino Poggio Bertaio 2016 recommended by efficient,amiable waiter Marco. Our friends had mussel cozze starters in a sauce they stated to be 'mouth watering while we had simple fresh mixed salads. As before the pasta was 'al dente ', so cooked to perfection by chef/patron Rosario,who takes pride in checking during the meal that we are satisfied.
