Owl Deer - Menú

I had a booking, when qe arrived there the restaurant was shut. There was no courtesy call to let us know. Called them numerous times. Phone unavailable. Found out it has been sold.

Fab afternoon tea, great selection and portion size of both the sandwiches and the sweet treats, was only visiting Edinburgh but would happily come back if I was in the area nice relaxed surroundings as well.  

Despite there being only three occupied tables on a busy Saturday evening, the service was surprisingly slow. We arrived at 8:15, but our starter didn't arrive until 9:15. Overall, the experience was okay, but there was a noticeable lack of experience from the staff.

Unfortunately, only 3 tables were occupied during the evening. It would have been nice to have a busier atmosphere. The restaurant has a good menu, with well-cooked and presented food, and a good selection of wines at a fair price. Owl and Deer has a nice vibe, I just hope to see it more crowded next time!

we were first time visitors to the owl&deer, but its safe to say on our next trip to Edinburgh it will be high on our list to do again, the afternoon tea was exceptional in value, flavour and variety, very fresh and amongst the best...afternoon teas ive ever had, the waitress was very attentive, friendly and efficient, highly recommended

Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic! I had a wonderful time enjoying delicious food, beautifully presented in a lovely atmosphere and served with efficient and friendly service. The chicken dish was superb and I highly recommend the pear dessert. I will definitely be returning with my friends soon. The loyalty program is a great deal and I will definitely be booking again.

Was given a voucher for afternoon tea for two people. I booked it for January only to be told a few weeks later that I should not have been allowed to book it. As my friend gave it to me for a birthday treat I...could not re-book as she had paid for it. It took her some time to get her money back and I lost out on the afternoon tea. Needless to say I will not be visiting this place anytime soon.

Chose to wait for a table for breakfast as lovely inside and tasty looking menu. Waitress wasn’t exactly cheery or helpful said we could wait if we wanted but couldn’t say if/ when a table would be free. We ordered and waited food...arrived first, had to wait for cutlery and they had forgotten what drinks we had ordered- then had to send eggs back had specifically requested ‘ well cooked/firm’ poached eggs- I can’t eat almost raw eggs but that was what I got. They did redo them but overall not very good eggs OK second time round but muffin and bacon hard and would guess not freshly cooked. Young guy serving us was very apologetic and not his fault but wouldn’t go back. Disappointing as looks...

My Husband and I had planned a day trip to Edinburgh and excitedly arrived at the Owl and Deer for arranged by phone weeks before We had a Groupon voucher which we handed over) for Afternoon tea with Prosecco The waiter...looked at us with surprise and asked what time we had booked for.
