Birthday dinner gave a private room. rustic interieur and nice staff. the menu is mainly in Italian, but it includes most classics. the winner of the menu is definitiw the truffle chips.

visited paesan mid-week for an evaluation of her menu. there is an excellent mood in the restaurant, with an exciting new Christmas menu to boot. paesan is a special highlight on the Exmouth market, one must visit.

the place itself is beautiful and cozy, but very crowded on a Saturday night. the service is quite slow and the food average, nothing special. It is too expensive for the quality of food. the bar down is cool hard and the cocktails delicious.

clerkenwell is not somewhere that is in the rule on my radar, so I had not heard of paesan before I went to check their new menu. located at the corner of the exmouth market, but it is quite easy to find. this place is proud to re-base on a good wise. the use of ingredients that are readily available and turn them into something delicious is all part of their ideology.

I recently attended the relaunch of Paesan, a rustic Italian bar and kitchen, on the corner of Exmouth Market and Farringdon Road. Opened in July 2013, Paesan specialises in cucina povera, which translates to “peasant kitchen”. This focuses on utilising every part of an animal and making do with the ingredients you have. If this just sounds like your idea of a sad Saturday night (look, we’ve all been there), then I would implore you to keep an opened mind as what you will find will not only exceed all your expectations but might also teach you a thing or two. Exmouth Market’s latest Italian addition Paesan, opened this summer. Following a cucina povera (peasant kitchen) theme the restaurant and bar frames its food as ‘simple, honest, real food made with love and imagination’. We grabbed a table outside on the pavement, on undoubtedly one of the hottest days this year.
