"Five and three quarter years is a short time in the life of some restaurants and a roller coaster ride in others. When we first came here, it was a charming but very conventional/traditional Ligurian restaurant and we loved it. Chef Sybil Carbone became a culinary celebrity and the owners backed her passion and talent taking the restaurant in a more creative and individualistic direction. It was still true to its local roots. The revamped decor was a bit more upscale, feminine and distinctive. When Sybil heard the siren call of big cities and began spending more and more time elsewhere, her second in command, also a lady, kept the restaurant on course, but some of the creativity and buzz diminished. Now, a new, but experienced chef from Andora is at the helm. His new menu is barely dry, but seems to steer more back to the traditional side. The important point is that it is well executed, tasty and fairly priced. The desserts are excellent too. There is a shift from linen to paper place mats and napkins, perhaps a practical nod to the financial risk of a small restaurant in trying times. The wine selection is still fairly basic, but reasonable for a place with a modest price point. A reassuring continuity is the same pleasant and skillful waiter from the Sybil days. On a wet Wednesday evening in mid-October the locals are supporting the restaurant and so are we. In the heart of the budello, the restaurant still has character and charm, and more importantly, fine food."

Ottima scelta per la nostra cena. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo con portate di ottima qualità, in un ambiente tranquillo. Il proprietario simpatico e gentilissimo ci ha spiegato la composizione e l’origine dei nomi dei piatti ordinati. Consigliatissimo!!!

È il miglior ristorante ad Alassio. Se volete cenare bene (ma _veramente_ bene! e godere un 'atmosfera unica di totale relax, la soluzione è una sola: Papei da Turta . Il proprietario è bravissimo! Ha questa dote di mettere subito di buon umore e consigliare i piatti e i vini azzeccando il gusto personale: come lo fa non lo so, ma ci si riesce benissimo! Ci torniamo sempre. Lo consiglio vivamente.

Un piccolo locale in una traversa del budello di Alassio che si è rivelato un’ottima scelta per la cena. Pochi coperti per lavorare sulla qualità e non sulla quantità, un’attenzione al cliente che ormai è difficile trovare. Il proprietario gentile e disponibile. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo, portate semplici senza mille condimenti in cui si sente veramente il gusto di ciò che mangi, i dolci poi sono superlativi. Consigliatissimo

Piccolo ristorante situato in una traversa del budello di Alassio. Ad accogliere i clienti il patron del locale che con aria famigliare che mette a proprio agio le persone. Il locale piccolo ben curato e arredato in modo semplice ma elegante. La cura del cliente e il servizio sono impeccabili, la cucina a vista propone piatti della tradizione di altissima qualità con un'ottima presentazione in tavola. La cantina è ben fornita di etichette nazionali e locali. I prezzi onesti e le porzioni giuste per godere il piacere del cibo scelto. There are nearly 200 places in Alassio where one can pick up a knife and fork for dinner, except in the depth of winter. Papei da Turta continues to be on our short list of a dozen or so restaurants that consistently deliver value, variety and veracity in traditional Ligurian style. There is only one chef and one waiter. So when they are full, as will happen on a Saturday night, the pace may be a little slow as everything is cooked to order. But that can and should contribute to a relaxed and savored meal. I have reviewed this restaurant a number of times, and if anything the dishes have gotten even better.
