Phoenix Chinese - Carta

Not the first time we have been here, and wont be the last. Service was very friendly and quick and the food was great.

Very clean, cute paintings throughout the restaurant, and excellent service. Excellent starters and main courses. Definitely the best Cantonese food I’ve had in years.

I had beef mushrooms bamboo shoots and the wife had duck in plum sauce, both had egg fried rice. They were both very nice. The white wine was very pleasant, as was the place. Ver carta

After hearing lots of recommendations, we thought we'd try here as a family. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Service was very good, but the food was extremely oily, and after both my wife and daughter were feeling unwell. We're unlikely to go again and I wouldn't recommend, but the place is always busy so many must like it.

Was very disappointed with the service , cale here with my husband and children for a meal this evening , didnt feel welcomed one bit the manager lady was very rude and had the attitude like she didnt want us there , wanting to try something different thinking she would give us some advice but just kept rolling her eyes , would not recommend this place and food wasnt the best either will try the emperors next time

Picked up a large takeaway quite disappointing quality generally all the chicken dishes tasted much the same . Ordered duck but we didn’t get any hoisin sauce or pancakes phone to explain they said “ how can we make this up “ I suggested a £5 refund as we can’t really eat the duck . Was then informed that if I look at their menu the pancakes and hoisin sauce was free. so no refund . Really poor attitude won’t be returning. Ver carta

This restaurant appears to have undergone new management in recent years as it has declined in quality. The food is now poor quality, greasy, and tasteless, and the service is rude. It is disappointing to see the Phoenix, which previously had a great reputation, now being poorly run and serving subpar Chinese food. I would recommend trying the Emperors instead, as it is not perfect but still a better option than the Phoenix.

The staff was good, the place was nice clean, prawn crackers were lovely, for this I’d give 5*. Spring rolls were fine but the dip didn’t taste of anything really. The ribs not good, again not keen as I’d’ve preferred a BBQ sauce rather than honey. But for the mains just a 3* because they just weren’t tasty at all. Plus it was quite expensive for what it was. We did however appreciate the effort that went into cooking this meal for us.

It must have been about six or seven years since I last visited this restaurant, which was absolutely appalling but goodness me has it improved. The food was absolutely excellent it was nearly as good as the original owners who were Hong Chinese and cooked as such. I really couldn’t fault this food. Admittedly we went at lunchtime so the service may have been better but the food and service were absolutely excellent. Each course (and we did have a few we all very good. Wine list was limited, but that was ok (cash flow maybe? It would be a travesty if this restaurant closed because it is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Leamington. Give it a try you really won’t regret it it’s well worth... Ver carta
