"I called the restaurant on Mother's Day to make a reservation and was able to secure a table for 1:30pm due to a cancellation, which I appreciated. However, the overall experience upon arrival was disappointing. We were quickly asked for our drink order as soon as we sat down, but I requested a few extra minutes as we had children with us, which seemed to annoy the staff. The starters were good, but unfortunately, we had to send back my daughter's pasta dish as the bowl was very dirty. Additionally, the portion size for her pasta with tomato sauce, which cost £6, was unreasonably small. To make matters worse, the waitress cleared our table while I was still eating, without checking if we were finished. As I tried to explain that I wasn't done, she stacked my son's and partner's plates on top of mine, which was not appreciated. It gets even worse - my children were offered dessert with their meal, but my partner and I were not asked if we wanted any. The bill was brought over before my daughter's dessert could even arrive, despite being told we had the table for 2 hours when booking. The most unacceptable part came when we had left the restaurant and a waitress chased us outside, accusing us of not paying the bill in front of other customers. This was incredibly disrespectful and embarrassing. We had indeed paid the bill and even left a tip, which I regretted after that harassment. Overall, the service was awful but the food was decent."

The service at this restaurant is very slow. It takes forty-five minutes for the food to arrive, which is the worst service I have ever experienced for simple food. I will never come back again.

We had a wonderful experience at one of the best Pizza Express restaurants we have visited. The location was lovely, the atmosphere was nice, and the food was excellent. Our waitress, Liz, was charming and took good care of us. We had a pleasant table overlooking the water.

Some friends and I, on a trip to the city, popped into this lovely Pizza Express right by the river. We had a really lovely time with good food and fantastic service. I ate a salad niceoise and a billionaire's sundae, with red wine. Our young waiter was so attentive he made a routine meal into a really enjoyable experience. Ver carta

I attended with my daughter and 2 year old grandson, who became very unwell. We had to leave, but I asked them to box the meal up to take with us. Nothing was too much trouble, everybody was so nice and made a difficult situation so much easier. When we got home his food had a get well soon message, which was so thoughtful. The food was delish as ever and he really enjoyed his brownie this morning

Came with a pre-booked party of 6 adults and 4 kids. Food was decent but took just over an hour to arrive. Waiter had to take order twice due to electronic systems not working. My meal arrived late due to some kitchen issue and the Leggera “salad hole” was filled entirely with rocket. Second round of drinks was incorrect too. The place was not exactly heaving with customers but others seated nearby after us were served and finished before our food arrived.

Sadly we cant review the food. Seated at 5:30pm, ordered food at 5:40pm by 6:20pm we were starting to wonder where it might be. Checked with 2 waiters, no idea from them. Found our waitress, she spoke to the kitchen and it turned out she hadnt even put our order through! Asked how long it was going to be, was told ‘no idea’. We had to be in the theatre at 7pm so left hungry with my 6 year old daughter. Giving us around 15mins to find some dinner and eat it. Manager looked completely out of his depth and didn’t even apologise. Ver carta

rushing is one thing but bringing out wrong orders and uncooked pizzas and slapping them with chillies for 'taste ' in unacceptable. Uncooked ingredients, very little cheese and tomato paste and an embarasment to what the pizza is. Dropped the ball so bad, we used to go and e decided last minute to give it another try, but after last night, this is never gong to go into our mouths again. Disgusting, eater burnt or uncooked, rushed, dirty bathrooms, the whole place is not clean, or polished or seems to give a damn about its quality of food. Adios.

We had delicious food BUT the restaurant was very quiet at lunchtime yet it took nearly an hour to get our main course. That was not the fault of the waiter who was charming, and kept us informed. We ordered dough balls which arrived promptly, THEN waited and waited for our two pizzas. Why was this? If we had been under time pressure, which many people are as the restaurant is very close to The Marlowe Theatre, this would have made the experience very stressful. As I said the food was delicious. My husband said the Padana was the best he’d ever tasted but the experience was spoilt because of the timing. God knows how long we would have waited if the restaurant was busy.

"After never visiting Canterbury before we where looking for somewhere to have a late lunch, we came across this place which looked ok, upon entering the back room we were offered to take a seat in the front area and someone will be with us. We asked what food there was and we where sarcastically shown the food on the blackboard, after choosing what we wanted the polite man went off and put the order in. We did feel that because the man had asked a couple of questions to another member of staff that he was spoke down too a bit. Anyway after placing the order and what we wanted the food came out it wasn’t correct but because it seemed like we were going to interrupt the people in the back room we just took what we had. It was nice food though. When we went to pay we hadn’t noticed that there wasn’t a price list so when we asked for the bill we were told that it was donation, what we thought was enough, it wasn’t posted anywhere and it took us by surprise as we where standing at the till, I was going to pay in cash but was told they don’t take cash so I had to give my donation in card by telling the person how much we where donating. After plucking a figure out of air as we wasn’t prepared we paid and left. Upon leaving we felt that the person we paid thought we hadn’t paid enough and wasn’t happy with the amount but after working out what we would have paid properly we worked out that we had paid more than what it might have been if there was a proper price on everything. Overall it has a great ethos and it’s great for giving people the experience that they need to be in a working environment but they need to show the price or tell customers first that it’s donations and card only."
