"Because of the positive reviews and good rating we chose for this restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was not that good. As a first dish we ordered the onion soup. The bread with the melted cheese was delicious. The soup itself was not so tasty. As...a second I ordered some special schnitzel with onions and mushrooms on top of it. Here it went fully wrong; there was no taste in the onions and the mushrooms. Were they cooked in water? Were the mushrooms from a can? We asked them to recommend a dry white wine. The wine seemed semi-sweet and it was not served cold enough. Definitely, not a wine of quality. In conclusion, the offered meal was unfortunately well below our expectations."

"My wife and I have visited the Town of Saarburg for well over 30 years and have had the pleasure of eating at the Akropolis on many occasions and have never had cause to be disappointed with our meal. Guests will be pleased to know that all meals are prepared to order. We have always been very warmly welcomed by the owner and his wife. This is a family run Restaurant and over the course of 25 years have built up a very high reputation as a result the quality of food provided. From the point of view of hygiene the standard is beyond any adverse remarks..My wife and I have usually our Evening Meal at the Akropolis but not late of an evening.. The Toilets are spotlessly clean. Other Guests whom we have met at the Akropolis all say how much they have enjoyed their meal. It is certainly a Restaurant to be visited by Visitors to Saarburg but don't leave it until you are at the end of your holiday as we are sure that you will wish to eat there again. "La comida sabrosa es preparada por italianos de Puglia. Hay un gran jardín con un árbol viejo y una hermosa vista sobre el río Saar, donde puedes sentarse, lo que permite el clima. El restaurante puede estar un poco ocupado cuando está soleado, por lo que es bueno ... para llegar temprano para asegurarse de que obtiene una mesa afuera o haga una reserva con anticipación. La espera de la comida puede ser un poco larga cuando estén llenos, pero el hecho de que ofrezcan algunas aceitunas antipasti, pan y un muy buen baño de berenjenas de forma gratuita y que estás sentado en ese hermoso jardín más que compensarlo. Lo que me gusta de este lugar es que no hay muchas mesas afuera, por lo que no se siente exprimido como sardinas allí. El restaurante es fácil de encontrar cuando sepa dónde ir: digamos que está parado en el lugar que está directamente sobre el Museo Mill Mühlenmuseum, pero en el lado opuesto y las cascadas están a su izquierda cuando se enfrenta al museo desde arriba; Ahora, detrás de tu espalda es la calle que va cuesta arriba a Kunhohof, solo sube esa calle y después de unos metros verás un signo de Bella Vista. Buon appetito"

"My son and I were staying at the Hotel, and decided to have dinner here after a long day exploring.First, the service: Probably the most warm, friendly service we have had anywhere in Europe during our 2 week "mini grand tour. Although her English was a little rusty, she couldn't have been nicer to two Americans with almost no German. What a pleasant surprise.We each had the €40 Regional specialty menu, and it was superb. Started with a chef's gift of carpacchio and fresh melon, which was sublime, as was the basket of brot.The entree (appetizer) was a fantastiche salad with marinated artichoke hearts, white asparagus (local specialty), an incredible piece of salmon, and a garnish of crab meat. Out of this world.For the main course we each had the schnitzel, served with buttered parsley potatoes and more white asparagus. I've had scnitzle at Zum Schwartzen Kameel in Vienna, which is supposed to be the best in Europe, bit the Saarrburger Hof eclipsed it. Truly remarkable.Dessert was a plate with an assortment of treats, including local cheese, vanilla ice cream, a small slice of gingerbread cake with a sumptuous sauce, fresh berries, and a blended fruit parfait.We started the meal with Bittburger bier and had a lovely local wine with the entrees and main courses. Total bill was €105 including service which qualifies as a steal. A truly memorable meal and evening."

"Heute haben wir uns mal Saarburg angeschaut und waren mit den Kindern dort ein Eis essen. Auf den ersten Blick war es eine gute Wahl. Leider war es dann doch nur mittelmäßig in Qualität und Service. Der Service hat relativ zügig die Bestellung aufgenommen, aber bei 4 Spaghetti Eis 2 Stück falsch zu machen, naja.. kann passieren. Das Eis schmeckt, irgendwie altmodisch trifft es. Auch die Auszeichnug an den Sitzplätzen von 1991/92 lässt vermuten, dass sich hier nicht viel getan hat. Die Cremigkeit und der gute Geschmack anderer Eisdielen lässt sich hier nicht finden, lediglich ein mittelmäßigen sehr süßes Eis mit etwas Eiskristallen. Schade, da könnte man mehr draus machen. Das Eiscafé profitiert hier von der Altstadt und dem Tourismus, in direkter Konkurenz zu einem anderen Eiscafé könnte es wohl nicht bestehen. Im Herbst fahren wir wieder nach Saarburg dann werde ich mal schauen ob sich etwas gebessert hat..."
