"During our week’s stay in the region we visited several restaurants for evening dinner. “Bulgaria/Bei Nico” was one of them. Never been to a Bulgarian restaurant before so we were curious as how the menu would be different than other Balkan restaurants we did visit...in the past. What followed was a nice surprise. For a Tuesday evening there were quite a few people inside as we entered around half past seven. A friendly waiter took us to a free table, handed over the menu and served both of us a 2cl glass of ouzo. We both ordered a “Schketo” (tomato-lamb soup) as starter. On the house a mixed salad with bread and four different kinds of sauces was served. Then my wife had a “Misch-masch” (sliced meat with sweet pepper, tomatoes and unions together with a pita bread) as main dish. I myself had a “Topf Sofia” which turned out to be a kind of stew in a ceramic pot with meat balls, pork, lamb, vegetables, egg, sheep’s cheese, salad and Bulgarian potatoes. We could have chosen the usual grill meats, but we didn’t and we don’t regret. Very nice food, sweetly spiced, the meat not as greasy as some other Balkan restaurants and all served with a smile and a joke. Good price/quality, 45 euros for the above, including a 0.3l coke, a 0.5l white beer, a cappuccino and a melnik ice cream (with walnuts and prunes). “Bei Nico” is some 2 kms south of the centre of Bad Oeynhausen, with plenty of free parking space right next to the entrance. If ever around here we would surely visit it again."

"Absolute delicious Thai food. Thailand is also known as the kitchen of the world. Many delicous dishes come from there. In the Bualuang restaurant you can experience the full spectrum of flavors yourself. The amazing kitchen staff cooks each meal fresh to perfection. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff makes you feel welcome right away. I can highly recomed comming here to experience the delicious food yourself."

"Ich hatte mir eine Pizza Jumbo bestellt. Die Größe der Pizza war ok. Der Boden sehr dünn und geschmacklich nicht so toll.. Der Geschmack des Belags/Sauce war eher unterdurchschnittlich. Die Lieferzeit war über 1 Stunde trotz der angekündigten 30 Minuten. Ich werde dort nicht mehr bestellen."

"The town center is small and almost all pedestrianized. I was there in December and so the Weinachtmarkt (Christmas market) was in full swing. Be warned they keep fairly early hours, some of the outer stalls close at 8pm and the inner ones (around the ice rink) stay open only until 9pm. The town itself is built on natural springs and there are several public and private baths and spas.The walking area is huge and varied from the town center shops to the park around the baths to the large wood on the other side of the town hall (Rathaus). The only place we found to change money (dollars) without an account was the Stadt Sparkasse (10E fee on $300)"

"Wir waren übers Wochenende in Bad Oeynhausen im Privathotel Stickdorn und das Restaurant ist ganz in der Nähe. Wir waren ohne Reservierung dort und wurden freundlich empfangen und haben draußen noch einen Tisch ergattern können. Wir haben als Vorspeise Caprese und das Rinder Carpaccio gewählt. Es kam zügig und es hat so lecker geschmeckt. Wir konnten in Ruhe unsere Vorspeise essen ohne das der Hauptgang schon gedrängelt hat. Das Zeitmanagement war toll. Unsere Nudeln im Hauptgang waren selbst gemacht und auch hier waren wir sehr begeistert. Mein Mann und ich waren mit der Essenswahl sehr zufrieden . Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder, wenn wir mal wieder in Bad Oeynhausen sind!"
