"visited a few weeks ago after reading the reviews. the reservation was for us and we arrived shortly before. restaurant beautiful made with lots of space between tables and large table for four people we really like. sa, waiting for about minutes before...we were asked if we want water/drinks. water came, but drinks were still a few minutes. Finally, the menus and the dame that took the commands arrived almost immediately to ask what we said we were not ready and then waited a few minutes to order. the starters arrived at which it was good. the most important courses were average and for over the filet steak was definitiw not and just sat on a large plate with a few frozen chips around it scattered a bit garn / rakete / moschus / tomaten could have been included for this price? the accompanying salate was dried in the dressur. it seemed that only the lady lady who took orders when the other girls stood safe when the menu is so limited that they could trust to take an order! yes, they were busy (saturday night), but don't take them as many bookings if they don't deal with them as human as we don't return."

A fantastic find local to us in Stoney Stanton, where there is a dearth of good restaurants. Imaginative menu, great service, well-presented dishes, lovely ambience. Highly recommended…

recently visited under the new name of dom for tapas night and really enjoyed eating it was amazing with a well thought out menu with a huge wine choice, we ordered many of the tapas options that were available my favorites. Cod chain, we ordered some extra dishes after we liked them so much, will definitely be back Ver carta

Booked for a birthday lunch on Saturday and dined on the outside terrace.Starter of pigeon was excellent and the sirloin steak truly superb. My partner had the wild sea bass which we were told was delivered direct from Newlyn,Cornwall. It was magnificent. We went off the private cellar...for our wines which were selected by Aga..again great choices.Overall a lovely experience. To sum up I will use a quote from a Rolls Royce dealership..’Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten’.

My partner and I visited for dinner. Lovely place bud the service was poor, at best. There are plenty of staff but there is a lack of leadership and direction. On arrival, we were sat down ot then took over minutes to get a...drink ordered. The starters were then delayed bu a further minutes. The main course arrived minutes after we arrived. Too long imo. Out of the tables there were only ever eating at any one time. The staff were all grafting but in the wrong direction and it seemed the polish girl had to take orders, pour wine, commentate on the cocktails. Not great imo

we once called up the opportunity and there was a lot of space and a warm welcome. the restaurant, now called dom, offers tapas, but still with fine culinary excellent pumpkin, burrata (creamy cheese) walnut and maple syrup, a fantastic Thai beef...table, the enough of the pork bell that is raised by an edgy and corpse. there were many cheeses that were paired with something sweet that we could have tried, but desserts were heavenly. a seemingly ordinary cream brûlée perfectly made by the balance of sweet with the tang of celestial. we felt, despite the fact that our server was busy and they understood gluten-free, so I had a lot of choice. First visit to the Poacher's Brasserie and of us had dinner last Saturday which was exceptional. The menu is sophisticated, well thought out and each dish was beautifully presented. The quality from the kitchen and chef is of a high level and it is...matched by the enthusiasm and warmth of Aga who runs the front of house and has a detailed knowledge of all the dishes. The starters were scallops, wood pigeon and all of which we're incredible. The mains ox Cheek, Fillet, Seabass certainly did not disappoint. We will undoubtedly return and can only urge local people to visit this classy restaurant and help to establish the brand. Deserts were also excellent with Taste Tatin, coffee Panna Cotta....

the poachers has been a popular restaurant for some time and we were very interested to see that the owners had decided to rework it under the new name of dom restaurant and bar with a completely redesigned menu. the menu is a large selection. round tapas-style dishes of tried and not only were they absolutely tasty they were inventive and often very original, as the pizzas. another nice note was that the cheeses were individually priced and come from craft producers. all dishes are freshly cooked and come as they are made. can best ask if they want them in a particlar order. the service is as impeccable as always. another welcome innovation is the new extensive wine list with very interesti...

"If your taste buds are about as refined as a brick or wet stone and you think that a gourmet meal is anything that doesn’t come out of a tin, then welcome to your new favourite spot. Maybe the writing was on the wall before we arrived, or should I say in the name. W(h)et Stone! We ventured into this culinary catastrophe and dared to order their so-called Standard Breakfast, with the simple request to hold the Black Pudding. Now, despite my 20/20 vision, I found myself in a game of hide-and-seek with what was supposed to be a complimentary egg. Spoiler alert: the egg didn’t show up. My equally unfortunate accomplice, decided to try the Veggie Breakfast. To our bewilderment, what they called a veggie burger turned out to be two sad, cylindrical objects that could only be veggie sausages in some parallel universe where taste and texture don’t matter. They were more like the offspring of a failed experiment between tofu and despair. The speed at which our order arrived was impressive, reminiscent of a fast-food joint that’s given up on even pretending to care. This, of course, means that the only thing likely cooked to order were the eggs, assuming they ever existed, which in my case, they did not. Now, let’s talk value. We handed over £15.50 for this dismal duo of breakfasts, and it felt like being mugged in broad daylight. To call it a waste of money is an understatement. I’ve had more satisfying meals from a vending machine. This place attracts a very particular type of clientele – the kind who couldn’t tell the difference between cheap produce and quality food if it danced naked in front of them. Look around, and you’ll quickly identify the patrons: a smattering of motor garages, the local council refuse and waste depot workers, and a business unit know for equipping you with everything you need to start your own cannabis farm. It’s a haven for those who believe that ketchup is a food group and whose idea of fine dining involves a plastic tray and a microwave. The decor, if you can call it that, looks like it was assembled by someone who lost a bet. It’s as if they raided a charity shop clearance sale and thought, “This will do.” Mismatched chairs, tables that wobble more than a drunk-on roller skates, and lighting that makes everyone look like they’ve just escaped from a horror film. It’s an ambiance that screams, “We’ve given up.” And let’s delve deeper into the quality of the food – or lack thereof. The bacon was a crime against pork, more like leather strips that had been left out in the sun for days. The sausages were pale, lifeless tubes that seemed to be filled with something that might have once been meat but had long since lost any connection to flavour. The beans, oh the beans, were a sad, gelatinous mass that resembled something you’d find in a science experiment gone wrong. The mushrooms were soggy, lukewarm and tasted as if they had been soaked in dishwater, and the tomatoes were limp, flavourless blobs that might as well have been plastic. Each bite was a journey through the various ways one can ruin perfectly good ingredients. Even the tea, a British staple that’s hard to mess up, was a travesty, arriving tepid and with a faintly metallic taste as if it had been steeped in an old tin can. Every element of the meal screamed indifference and a total lack of culinary skill. It’s as if the chef had a personal vendetta against food and decided to take it out on the customers. Each bite was a new low, a fresh insult to the taste buds, leaving you wondering how on earth this place stays in business. In summary, if you’re looking for a place where culinary dreams go to die, where value for money is a distant fantasy, and where the clientele would struggle to distinguish fine dining from dog food, then this is your spot. Just remember to bring your sense of humour, because you’ll need it to survive this gastronomic nightmare.
