"I had booked a table at Posillipo for lunch as a treat for my son 's 4th birthday as a friend had recommended it. We booked the table 2 weeks ahead for lunch at midday. We arrived at midday and were shown probably the worst table in the restaurant. I asked if we could have one with a seaview but were told there was a large group coming so we couldn 't have one. Fair enough but there was no apology just a rather grumpy waiter who could barely make eye contact. We sat down and ordered our food. 30 minutes later with a bored 8 month old and a hungry 4 year old we asked if we could have some breadsticks until the starters came out. The waiter said they didn 't do them but he could bring us some bread immediately. Another 5 minutes went by and eventually the bread came out. Then another 5 minutes went by and I asked how long the starters were likely to be. The waiter looked uncomfortable and said he 'd just spoken to the kitchen and they were just getting ready but he wasn 't sure how long it would be until it opened. Unbelievable! We asked why they hadn 't thought to tell us that the kitchen wasn 't even ready until we 'd been waiting for 40 minutes and had actually asked. He didn 't offer any sort of apology but just looked slightly awkward. We walked out. What 's worse is that when we sat down at our table another family had walked in about 5 minutes later. The waiter said they could have a table but it was only available for an hour. The family took the table and said 'we won 't take long '. I have no idea if they even got to have their starters before being asked to vacate their table we 'd already left."

Squashed in like sardines, tasteless food and a rubbery panna cotta. Not my idea of a great Italian meal.

We enjoyed a lovely meal including two toddlers. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely and the staff were both welcoming and accommodating.

It was a fantastic evening for me and my partner as it was our anniversary the food was great we were serve quickly and it was just all round fantastic. The only downside was me and my partner were so full we did not get a chance to eat pudding

When we arrived, we were squeezed into a table that we couldn't sit around comfortably. we then sat outside, ignored one because and treated as if we were a nuscience for that, but many employees didn't feel worried about everything. will not come back.

Posillipo is a must do in Broadstairs. On this occasion we had a wonderful lunch out on the back deck in the sun. The specials that day were delicious, breasola wrapped goats cheese candied walnuts with artichoke puree followed by crab in a brandy cream sauce and they were able to do a gluten free pasta for me. Service as always was excellent.

After she's been coming to posillipos for a few years, it's never failed to deliver. the specialties are great, but that means that they are standing up their standard menu elements and makes it so difficult to choose! the Bistecca-Steak my mannes was huge and did not fail to succulence and taste. that sometimes does not mean space for pudding. a fantastic place, long can continue.

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."
