"The restaurant is only a few years in the making. Some prefer it over the Catina Mexicana which is about 5 minutes away from this restaurant. I've heard more bad things as well as experienced with this restaurant than the Cantina. The food is fairly priced, the service is ok. Upside to the service is they have these wooden pegs that you stand up right when you're ready to order or need service....down side to that is, good luck if they see the peg upright after 10 min or so. The food is ok but lacks in a little more spice. Not as authentic in flavor as it should be. The atmosphere is nice but I feel if they spent enough money and time into making better food and service as they do to dressing up the place....it would be a total hit....in my opinion. The drinks are lacking in flavor and I feel like they ration alcohol in their drinks since some of the margaritas taste just like a smoothie. I give it a three out of five because it's easy to get a seat here with out reservations about 95% of the time and it works out great for a last minute decision / last resort restaurant."

We've tried most of the Mexican restaurants and being from Texas, this one is the closest to "Mexican" you're going to get around here.

It isn't Tex-Mex but if you try the dishes you will be pleasantly surprised. There four Mexican restaurant in the K-town area and Primavera is the best of them. The ribs and wings are also really good here.

Being from the southwestern US, I was skeptical. I had tried several other Ktown area Mexican restaurants with bad results. I was pleasantly surprised! Good margaritas, excellent soups, good food and friendly service. I highly recommend this restaurant.

There is always something new and exciting going on at Primavera, Weather its a birthday party (all ages) a hail or farewell or just friends getting to gather for a great meal, this is the place that won't let you down. Best to book in advance cause they will fill up quicker than most restaurants of the same category.

After finding out that the Cantina is now closed on Mondays, we came to the Primavera. After being seated, we found the menu to be pretty much the same as Cantina. This can be a plus or a minus. Beer was good, the food was decent, but they could be more generous with the tortilla chips and salsa. The staff was not on point. Ordering was a little rocky. At one point, a person at our table bit into a larger piece of plastic. After some laughter and teasing, we informed the waitress about the problem. Not wanting to create a scene, we kept it discreet, but when the waitress replied " I do not work in the kitchen". We were floored. Afterwards, when the owner/manager, came by, we asked him if he...

"Holiday, nice weather and still what to do in Kaiserslautern. We planned our start in Kaiserslautern with a light lunch. We visited Ayame for the first time 3 years ago. It is located in the former JVA Kaiserslautern, which was converted a few years ago into the Hotel Alcatraz. A Japanese restaurant fits well here, because the Japanese garden borders directly on the building. We have free parking in the courtyard. Schlichter hotel entrance, only hidden hints at the restaurant The way to the small restaurant leads past the reception. At 13.45 we entered the small restaurant with few seats and hoped to have a seat. Open until 14.00. A long-term construction site on the way to Kaiserslautern forced us to a rather large detour. We were the only guests, were warmly welcomed by a young man. Our question whether we get anything else to eat was kindly hunted. So we took a seat in the small, Japanese-style dining room and got the menu. Optic hasn't changed much since our last visit. Everything is clean and well maintained, bare tables. Daylight only illuminates the room. Unfortunately, you can't look outside. . The menu surprised me. She was partly handwritten and so completely different from my memory. Due to the advanced time, we decided very quickly: 2 large mineral water € 2.50 Foreway to crumb: Edamame € 4.20 For both of us: Sushi Menu € 13.80: Miso Soup, 3 Sushi Nigiri, 4 pieces Hosomaki, 8 pieces Uramaki Our drinks came immediately and well cooled. A good portion of the salted soybeans a little later. The hot beans in the bowl were a tasty crackling beforehand. The young man supported a (his? wife in the open kitchen. Here I was able to observe how the Misosuppe was tasted and the lady freshly prepared our sushi. That made all a very good impression. View into the open kitchen The steaming soup with tofu insert tasted mild and yet aromatic according to the Wakamealga. After a reasonable waiting period, our sushi were served. Very appealing. The 3 Nigiri classic with salmon, shrimp and tuna. The “Makis” pefect rolled, very good in taste. Overall a good portion, we were pleasantly tired. There was really nothing to complain about for the price. Sushi Menu The young man was very attentive, but to expect from two guests. In between the question whether everything tastes. Wasabi, soy sauce and ginger were handed down. In the case of numbers, the solution for the significantly different menu. The young Japanese couple only took over the restaurant a few weeks ago. This also explained that some processes have not yet been very routined. Stay to hope that the small restaurant will talk to friends of Japanese cuisine. Despite proximity to the city, it is very hidden in the building complex. Running is not coming over here and not every hotel guest likes Sushi. The toilets belong to Hotel Alcatraz, are modern, very clean and well maintained. Restaurant and toilets are walkable and without stairs."
