"Chose Psalters for an evening meal based on the menu in the doorway of the hotel it is attached to (Luttrell Arms) however, the menu for the restaurant is different from that, as that is the bar menu for the hotel. That being said we had a lovely meal and came away very satisfied. Decent choice but be sure to ask for the daily specials sheet as well one of us at off that and both choices were great. Decent price, beautifully presented and decent portions without being over faced. More atmosphere in the bar area and I would get there in good time if going again and get a seat in there."

Not bad at all for the cost, worth a trip if staying in Dunster. Had a very reasonable meal here which was quite cheap, needed three courses though to feel like I had eaten a meal.

We dined at this restaurant during our stay at the Luttrell Arms. The service was excellent, and the food was superb in both presentation and taste. It's definitely worth stopping by the bar for a drink afterwards, as the atmosphere is fantastic.

We recently stayed a couple of nights at The Luttrell Arms and dined in the Psalters Restaurant. We were told when booking accommodation that the kitchen was having a complete refit and there would be a limited menu. I chose the gourmet burger and my wife the linguine with salmon and pine nuts. Both meals were excellent and the service very good.

The setting at Psalters is lovely. It is located within the Luttrell Arms Hotel, which is a charming old building. There is a good selection of drinks available and cozy open fires during the winter. The food was enjoyable, although the menu was limited at the time due to a full kitchen renovation. I would be excited to visit again once they are fully reopened. The service was excellent.

We dined on our first night in the Luttrell Arms. We were aware of the menu being limited due to a refit. We managed to find a choice on the menu. Everything was good and the service excellent. We would have dined on the following night, but were told that the menu would be unchanged. So had to make other arrangements. Would have thought they would have changed the menu as a bit of imagination could have provided alternatives.

The food at the Luttrell Arms is always tasty and good value for money. The service is friendly and efficient. We popped in for a family lunch today and it was a lovely cosy atmosphere after a chilly Exmoor walk. I had the ploughman's one of the best I've had. My husband and daughter had the Luttrell burger, which they both enjoyed, and my son had the children's fish and chips which was more like an adult portion. We will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant, with unique combinations that you wouldn't think of yourself, but surprisingly delicious. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and attentive, including the younger members who were well-trained. Initially seated in the middle of the restaurant, I prefer to have my back against a wall and found it uncomfortable. The young waiter, Alfie, noticed my discomfort and offered to move us to another table, which we appreciated. His attentiveness added to our overall enjoyment of the meal.

The George Inn

The George Inn

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
