Fantastic food. Took my family out for dinner whilst visiting them in Stapleton. Great food and good portions.

Not a paid review like some one has stated! Fantastic food, slightly more expensive than other curry houses but great flavour and great service.

Very warm welcome nice people helpful with questions about the menu. The food was also very nice and plentiful. I had to take my left overs away.

Pretty dissapointing byriani. It was simply pilau rice with three lumps of large dry chicken. Not worth the money charged. The sauce was overflavoured with what tasted like half a jar of shop bought curry paste.

not for a few years in the restaurant. refit has lost the intimacy of the old place, but quality of food made safe for them. service was very slow (25 minutes to get a drink) but the staff was very nice and very helpful.

First visit since it’s reopened and whist the restaurant has modernised and revamped the service, welcome and authenticity has remained. The food was absolutely excellent as was the service. Great to re-discover the Bristol Indian gem

Realy great food very good service not pressured in any way or rushed like so many other Local Indian Restaurants. My wife had Lamb Shashlik Amazing I had Chicken Patia very spicy Great best I have had in years our friends both had Chicken Korma both enjoyed will be returning very soon Great Restaurant clean and airy.

Welcome back to raj and the team! we have been here regularly since 1994! nice that you come back! Many people criticize the new layout, but the time is running! it is bright, openly planned and very well made that a beautiful refreshing change from the old skool dark stalls from the 90s! eating is absolutely at the point as it was always when there was something not on the menu just asking how they are very courteous. great thing on the raj mahal is that they open to lunch also from 12-2, which is beautiful to sit and watch the world go! cannot recommend this establishment very enough and look forward to seeing it soon!

really good Indians, you can say that real carefree was taken with the food. I ordered a king prawn tandoori and the garnels had been properly peeled and partially cut to let the sauce infused properly. it seemed like they were solidified for some time before they were cooked and it was a really delicious dish. such a refreshing change from the food that comes from many curry houses. the other curries we had were also great and there was a real variety of taste between them, again, very different from many curry houses that have only a few different tinted sauces and put a few different dings in them and call them different dishes. this was our second meal here and will not be the last!
