"I stopped outside and read the menu and all the signs. Being in a new country, I wanted to make sure I knew all the rules before I went inside (And didn't exacerbate any negative opinions of Americans) . There was nothing stating that there was a minimum party requirement so I went in. There was no line and there were some tables open. The manager/owner met me at the door and I told him I was a party of one. He said the was a minimum requirement for a party of four and that "I must leave". It happened just like that with no other words on may part in between. However as I was leaving I did tell him I would be submitting this review so it should not come as a surprise. My opinion is that this manger/owner was being rude and it was not just a language misunderstanding. I understand that this may have been the owner and he could not tie up a table for 4 people on a weekend. I just think he might have been a little nicer in how he said it. He treated me like I was a vagrant asking for a handout."

Went to Restaurant China due to positive Trip Advisor reviews, ended up going three times during our month in Nice. Really good food, friendly service and very affordable.

Very friendly service. Food and drinks were excellent. We only had 2 courses but a varied selection. Small place that filled up quickly, so reservation is recommended. Priced very well given quality of food and service.

We visit China everyone we come to Nice and yesterday was , as usual , quite superb . We had to book because it was so busy but the Chicken, Ginger and Spring Onion and Beef Satay dishes were fantastic. This is a great great good value family run restaurant with authentic clean tasting dishes to tantalise the palette. We will be back before we leave.

Visited and ate 2 years ago about the same time and loved it then, and decided to give it a go again. Served by a lovely guy, and friendly too. The food is absolutely splendid from the starters to the main dishes, and reasonably priced. Turn up early otherwise you may be disappointed as it's fairly small inside. See you again on my next visit to Nice.

The best Vietnamese restaurant in Nice. Although the restaurant is called "China" the food is actually Vietnamese. I have been there on several occasions and have never been disappointed. This family run restaurent is quite small, so it's best to book at least the day before if you want to be sure to get a table. Everything is homemade, fresh and very tasty. The service is sometimes a little slow as there is only one family member serving. Excellent value for money.

Great food, with friendly service.The spring roll starters are the best we have ever had.The waiter made us aware that there may be a 15 minute delay before they could serve us as soon as we stepped in, and the wait was actually minimal.Attention to detail was spot on and the restaurant was a real local haunt with a lot of happy faces around the place.Less than 70 euros for two courses, rice, wine, beer and water for two people was great value.Wish it were our local!

We absolutely loved this restaurant!! Viewing the restaurant from the street you wouldn't know the gem that lies within. Cosy place, with simple, appropriate and beautiful decorations. Wonderful balance of elegance, art and simplicity for a comfortable dining experience. We were cheerfully greeted by the waitress, who also suggested a vegetarian option for the bo bun. We were also able to substitute tofu (which isn't listed on the menu), in different dishes. So we got tofu coconut curry that was absolutely delicious!! We felt welcome and not rushed to finish every time we were here. The vegetables were fresh and the food was light and overall a great dinner! We will definitely come back.
