"I’ve been coming to this restaurant now for well over a decade and it’s still my one and only reason for visiting Halifax. The food is always top quality, portions are generous and really good value for money. But more than that is the experience Pajaree herself provides. Always warm and friendly, cares for her customers and never forgets you. Her partner Philip is lovely too and always great to have a catch up with. We had mixed starters, a main each, egg fired rice and a pork omelette all washed down with a lovely bottle of Shiraz and the whole lot cost less than £55. "Arrived on time to be sent to the bar for 20 minutes while they prepared a table. Not acceptable with a child. The food was okay but flavour pairings were a little poor. Lipstick on the glasses and left without drinks for the whole main course. The children’s menu was awful, clearly created through necessity and not by someone who cares what children eat. My daughter ordered fish and chips at £9 she couldn’t eat much of it, it was cheap frozen fish and fries….. worlds away from the fish and chips my Mum ordered from the adults menu. It was supposed to be a treat as my daughter is a real foodie but another visit to Shibden Mill will now be my go to threat for bad behaviour. The 10% service charge was already added to the bill which was thoroughly undeserved so paid grudgingly."

"Me and my wife popped in for a drink after shopping and realised that Millers had recently been taken over. You can tell the new owners have put some money into the decor and even had a live singer on which was a nice change from before. We had a look at the menu which was small compared to the previous but sounded nice. Unfortunately, from there is where the evening turned sour. I went to the bar to order some food and was left standing waiting to be served for around 10 minutes with staff just ignoring me. I would like to mention I was the only person stood at the bar and three members of staff were there but no acknowledgement. Not even we will just be a minute which I felt was rude. I do understand that they did have large Christmas parties in and most likely were understaffed but still just that they would be a minute would of been nice alternatively hire more staff for busy days before taking bookings. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait for food, which was understandable. It was actually 60 minutes, and when the food arrived, we had to help ourself to napkins and cutlery as we were left. The burger was nice, but the Chicken kebab was cold, and the flatbread was raw, not just a little but really raw. We sent the flatbread back and waited another 5 minutes for a fresh flatbread which again came to the table raw in the middle. The menu also stated Tzatziki but came with Hummus which wasn't pleasant to eat. Overall it was disappointing, I think they need to start thinking of hiring more staff on busy days of the week especially with Christmas around the corner. We both said we won't be returning again for food which is a shame since Millers has always been known for their great customer service and good food."

"The restaurant has a well-managed, welcoming atmosphere as soon as you enter. The bar staff are friendly and courteous. We enjoyed the Sunday roast, which was a great value at £16 for two people. The food was excellent and served by exceptional staff members. It is advisable to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. Price per person ranges from £10 to £20."
